Welcome back Cheryl. Yes, it is so hard to send our children back. I felt so lonesome last Sept when my son went home.

We have received 4 thank you notes today thru the HAE email address. I've written back to all 4 and asked 3 about the units they are in. Cause I really am not sure which group they are from.

I said "I guess it is good that we have sent so many that sometimes we are not sure which unit a soldier is from when they are kind enough to write". I hope they let us know! 3 received one from my friend Pat in VA-I made her an honorary navy mom and one for Matt's mom.

Great work ladies!

I'm back! Sent my sailor back to Norfolk on Thursday and needed to keep a low profile yesterday as I'm sure you all understand.
Hubby and I will be heading to Colorado at the end of the week - sewing maching + lots of military fabric going with us so once I get my house in order, the sewing maching will be humming again so I can replenish my stash!
Have enjoyed catching up on all the activities here - loved reading about the feedback we're getting as it is so motivating and seeing everyone's pillowcases inspires me to be a bit more creative!

Carolyn have a fabulous time with your son! Her son was the 1st group mailed to this year!

And when on FB to quit it, I saw a post that the USNS Comfort has come home. So it's a good thing that we turned that ship down in Feb. there wouldn't have been time to get them done with 1277 personnel!

Kim, I love to bake, but we don't need to eat it all either. So mailing off to our troops is a great solution to me.

I have terminated my Twitter and Facebook accounts tonight. It's personal conviction and I decided to let them go tonight. It's funny, cause I was just telling the ladies at Curves this morning how the Heads at Ease group on FB kind of gave me the creeps. Too many too fast too many requests etc.
Then I got home and read an email from a friend of mine who did some research into it and I knew it was time to let it go.

Besides, if I am always at the computer, I don't get any sewing done. haha.

check you the new numbers.

Sue, I laugh to myself when you say don't get out to mail them because, I could walk to the post office in the small town that I live in or call on a farmer to pick them up and take them for me!! haha

I may try to make some no bake cookies and mail those also. I like to bake and make goodies but my husband nor myself needs to enjoy them but we could both have a little nibble before they are mailed ;)

Morning! Like Kim there was one group that I didn't get pictures of and that's the St Patrick ones I sent to the Cleveland. But I can see that it would be great just to see what all we as a group have sent to everyone. Fun just to see the fabric and combinations. So creative. Love the hearts too.

yes, it does Kim. We will give you the claim. haha.

Kim, the most important thing you can do is to be there for your granddaughter! Because, that helps your sailor! Pillowcases will come when you have the time to sew. There is no pressure here. and if the snow comes, wait to mail. Don't get out in the weather to do that, please!
I put enough pressure on myself for everyone, so please do not feel pressure. That's why Dori has encouraged us all to build a stash.
I am getting another 20 ready to mail to Dawn today as well as pumpkin bread, the seeds and some cornflake cookies. Then we will wait to hear from Dawn who will let us know when she gets low.
I love having her as a contact. Just think, she is visiting the front lines and those are the troops that really need some mom love. And she promised pictures! And remember ladies, if it is possible, take a picture and email them to me. I do keep a record.

Sue, it could be mine but I can't remember. I didn't get pictures of the some of them that I sent. If it is, it just reemphasizes the reasons that we all do this.

I will be sewing today and this weekend. I will try very hard to get mine mailed to Dawn tomorrow. We are expecting a lot of snow tomorrow and Sunday. We are having 70 degree weather today! I have everything in place to get a bunch finished for my stash. Having went back to work a few weeks ago is cutting into my sewing time and having my granddaughter last weekend made it impossible to do anything but oh it was so worth the time with her :)
