Navy For Moms

Hi crew,

Molly has announced their group for these 2 months. We won't be sending them pillowcases as Lyn has been making Christmas stockings with seabees on them. In fact, she is going need some help sewing them up. She says they are very easy. So please leave her a message if you are able to help with that.

Instead, we are going to take the groups that have asked for support on the Molly website and weren't adopted. I've asked Tina to post those links to this thread. If I recall, they were smaller groups, so think we could do them all.

My focus is pillowcases although I will include other things if I have room. So the aren't necessarily a Christmas thing. I just hate to skip a month from doing a group. The NY is just a special project.

Lyn, can you post a picture of the completed stocking? I don't know how to get it from Molly's page.

I just looked at Molly's website at the sailors asking for support. I didn't count Tyler, cause he has been done by Lyn in October.

The rest of the names total 94, with 2 groups not being adopted as yet. Karen had asked me about doing the 67 in Iraq that Central Illinois just packed for, but I will skip them for right now. I would rather work on these 5 small groups. Once the NY pillowcases are all accounted for, perhaps we can do the 67.

I asked for the address of one group of 15 in Japan that hasn't been adopted yet. I am hoping to mail tomorrow or next Tuesday. That's a big difference I know, but it says it takes 48 hours to get the address. I can do all of these, but there is another group in Guam of 15 that I would like to mail to also before Thanksgiving. I will ask for some help with that group.

Then we can do the rest in December. I don't focus on holidays, just getting pillowcases in the hands of our military. So stay tuned for the next mailing. Thanks.

I have 15 pillowcases in my stash. I think 3 or 4 of them are females. I'll get back to sewing pillowcases early next week. I need to catch my breath and re-organize my sewing room. We are suppose to get a return date for my son's sub sometime this weekend. He won't make it home for Thanksgiving but hopefully we'll see him for Christmas or New Years.

I mailed 16 today.
1 to a sailor who has lost his leg in a motorcycle accident.
15 to a group of sailors in Japan. this group came from Molly's adopt a sailor website. I also mailed 15 lip balms, 15 letters from school children and some reading material. I'll post a picture later.

I bet you are so anxious to see him Lyn!

Welcome back Dori! We want details on your graduation!

Yes, I felt bad too. We are doing another mailing the week of Thanksgiving. Matt's mom and Lyn have some set aside and I think will do 2 little groups that week, maybe 3.

Today, we adopted the Army unit of 18 from Molly's website.

I also sent 1 pillowcase to Major Doug with the land warrior unit in the sandbox. 120 other pillowcases were mailed by my fabulous crew. I am just awed by you moms and friends! I had to put on the navy mom heart though. I am hoarding them for special pillowcases. Thanks Barb G!

I also sent one to Andrew in Greece. He's the young man who said "I wish someone thought enough of me to mail me something." heartbreak. well, now he's getting alittle package.
