I will still be sending 40 card to the USS Chosin. I also will be sending the commander a Christmas card. I am sure he will like that. If anyone is sending gifts and you have a lot of flat rate boxes the post office will pick up the boxes. You have to call the U S Post office to pre arrange it. The sooner the better. That way you don't have to be waiting in line with a whole bunch of boxes. And there has been a change to the customs forms. More detail. Which is a pain.

Customs forms changed a few months back and it's not really more detail. They just rearranged where you put the info and gave you definite lines to write on instead of big holes. LOL!!! This new one drives me nuts sometimes. I'm so used to the old one, I keep filling it out the same way and have to stop myself and back up. Just make sure you press hard enough to get through all the layers -- you get the bottom one. Have a great day ladies!

Hi Pat
I'm sending 15 Christmas stockings by Nov.14. It was fun getting things together.

I'm sending 100 goody bags to Nimitz HS-6.

Question re: custom form (sending priority flat rate)
I've not done this before.

1, Weight of each detailed descriptio? Do we guess on this or actually have to weigh the individual contents listed?
Value is what we paid for the contents?
6, Do we want it to go Airmail?
14-19, Do these apply to us?

Thanks for clarifying.

Sara, when sending packages to the ship we usually use the large APO/FPO flat rate priority mail boxes. You can use the regular priority boxes and still get a discount when sending to a APO/FPO. You can also send the packages parcel post but I don't know that it will be any cheaper. Just guess what they weigh. I've never weighed anything I've sent and you can just put an estimate of what you paid. Priority mail does go go by plane.

Hi Ladies, I know I've already said this but before you mail your Holiday packages. please write somewhere on the front of the box that they are for the Navy for Mom's Holiday project. This way the PAO will know that they are from us. If someone were to send a random box to the PAO, he's not going to know what they are for. Another thing, if you are sending your packages by priority mail, they should be mailed on Friday, Nov 13th or Mon, Nov 16th. If you are using the parcel post rate, they need to be sent asap. Thanks

Am I losing it or what? Was not the list of departments on this discussion?

No Beachmomma, you're not losing it. I took it off because someone didn't think it was appropriate to post what people were sending. I have it and will put it back up tomorrow.

partypro.com look in any warehouse except the green. Everything is bulk warehouse pricing about 50% off. They can help with the goodie bags. Merritt or anyone else can you also. But they can help with this kind of order.
