Any other mom's have a Hospital Corpsman in Iwakuni Japan?

My son just graduated Hospital Corpsman school and will get to come home for eight days and than he has to report May 25th for Iwakuni Japan. We are very proud of him, but also anxious about him being so far away. This is his first time away from home. He has always loved Japanese culture and art. I would like to find out information about life in Japan as a Corpsman.
