Becca, I live down by Dam Neck and Oceana and it is great over here. My hubby is stationed at little creek and we will be moving to base housing within the month. The schools are wonderful over here. My daughter goes to Corporate Landing (awesome) and my son goes to the CDC center at Oceana. Both are great and my kids love them. The area that I am currently living in (off base housing) is excellent. I feel so safe here and the neighbors are one of a kind. THe only reason why we are moving is because it is quite a drive for my hubby and it would be easier on him if we lived closer to his duty station. Are you looking for on base or off base housing?

Denise--I am waiting until he gets back to move out there. I figured it would be easier being around my family while he is gone!

Welcome Becca & Jen :)

Amyk* Oh thats good! He's lucky he gets to head out to the ship soon. At least we are a month down. We'll get this deployment over with and soon they'll be back home! :) So will you be moving to VA before he goes out to sea or when he gets back?

Hey!! My husband just got his orders and it looks like we are moving to VA. We will be stationed at NAS Oceana. I just thought I would join and meet some people before I move and have a few friends to ask questions to lol. I was born in Norfolk but was way too young to remember anything. I know not a thing about the area and I am very nervous. I have a 4 year old and a 7 month old. I need to find an area with great schools...any ideas?

Amyk* well,I hope everything works out. I'm sure you're hoping for shore duty. lol. I'm kind of glad my hubbys on deployment, just so he can get it over with.lol. I'm glad I didn't have to move up there and a few months he leave and I'd be alone. at least this will give us more time when they get back.

Danielle* Oh really?! lol. So where the places not in good areas or didn't look too good?

Hey Denise,
The only real problem we had was finding a place we both liked. Its alot different from what i am use to but its not bad. Just have to get use to a whole new place.
