Hi Momof4 and Angie, would love to keep in touch with you as our sons begin this adventure together. Seems like November is a long ways off, but will be here before we know it. My son will be a RP.

Hi PetSasso, my son leaves on Nov 4 and he is going to be a RP. He is 22, just finished his associates degree. He now has 6 months to prepare for boot camp. Would love to keep in touch with you, as we go on this adventures with our sons. We live in the Tampa, FL area.

hi Momof4..congrats on your son wanting to do something positive with his life. I know for us moms this is tough but again our job will be to support them. Your son is leaving a little earlier than mine but we can support each other too. My son was going to do AECF but then decided on nuclear program (nuke) - he said it was a tough choice for him. For now we just need to enjoy them. You also have all the grad stuff to look forward to.

My son will be shipping on the 4th of November...just enrolled in April. His rate is AECF. I'm not familiar with military either. My son is senior in High school, just graduating end of May.

Petsasso my son leaves on the 19th. What is your sons rate? Mine enlisted in the nuclear program -nuke. I have so many mixed feelings. Not familiar with the military.

My son, enlisted on March 28th, 2013 and leaves for BootCamp on November 5th, 2013! He finishes school (Sophomore in College) at the end of May and his "job" after that is to PREPARE, PEPARE, PREPARE for BC! He's already doing Cross Fit Caliber Training several times a week and is eating VERY clean, in order to be as fit and as strong as he can be! What a journey for BOTH of us :)

Very well said LoriK... I feel the same way.... I am on here today to make sure I am dotting my i's and crossing my T's... Don't want my SR to get in trouble because of something I didn't realize. I hope they know the do's and don'ts before we take them off BC.

It seems like a very short time ago I joined this group, waiting for my son to ship to boot camp, hoping to gain wisdom from veteran moms, dads, girlfriends and to have my anxieties soothed.  Here we are, some of us with new Sailors off to A schools, some having received the "I'm a Sailor" call and some still waiting, with PIR still to come.  Thank you to all of you for helping me through these last few months and for providing a community with something huge in common.  God bless our SRs.
