Hi, does anyone know anything about the A training in Pensacola for aviation machinist mate? My son informed me that after PIR, he will only be doing A school in Pensacola for 4 weeks? Does that sound right? The recruiter told me that they have to have 180 days of training before being shipped out. I'm very confused....

Shari--Yes, a month wait is not at all unusual. It can be 2-3 months until they have the class size they want to start a new rotation.

Hello to all. My daughter just graduated this past weekend from GL. She called last night and said that she is on hold for her "A school" training in GL. Is this normal and is the delay long? Months?

Susrq, I know that they can have laptops on aircraft carriers and they have an email account on the ship. Not sure about other ships and not sure that they have total internet access but they can send and receive email.

Can anyone tell me if our Sailors are able to have laptops with them on the ships or even if they would be able to have an internet connection?
