I was worried that he'd be paying for her cell phone plan, but all he'd done was buy her the phone. I hope that your son's girlfriend is nearby and not someone that he's met while in the service.

Christine, now you have me worrying. My son's girlfriend now has his debit card and cell phone.

When he told us what had been happening, I offered to send the sister of a co-worker who lives there to beat Anjie up - he laughed at that, at least. Yeah, he felt majorly used. She got all that cash plus a cell phone. You know darn well that there's someone else that's going through the same thing, now that John's gone.

Oh my Goodness Christine I am so sorry. How horrible it must have been for him (and you) I guess all of our sailors learn hard lessons as mine did by my coment from today

My son had a tremendous growing experience while in San Diego. He met a girl at a club, she convinced him that he was "the one" and that she was broke and needed money. She drained his account to the tune of $7000! I was actually heartbroken/glad when he shipped out as he wouldn't be seeing her anymore.

Good Afternoon Penny, glad to help. I have not heard from my son in a week, he unfortunately got into a situation which he is dealing with now (he got a DUI) it almost crushed me, but I understand from other moms that the Navy deals with these types of situations on a daily basis. I am just thankful that he turned to me and told me what happened, and it almost crushed him as well, he went to the ship in person and did a statement, and was supposedly going to meet the captain, and his LPO took him to get his cart, that was the last I heard. I just hope and pray he is ok and will come out of this. Our sailors are still young at heart, and are growing up so fast aren't they?

Hey, my son is on a sub right now, he should be in port in about a month, he told me last week that it would be great to have a care package waiting for him when he arrived in port. My question is what all can go in the package and how soon should I mail it? thanks for any suggestions

Hello everyone!! My son has called me a couple of times now. He is sooo excited and happy. He is aboard the USS Bush now. He is meeting lots of people now as he goes through his daily schedule. Everyone is so great. The first night there one of the other guys knew he was new and said "come with me" and took him to the movies with him. It made my son feel so good. I am not sure who that sailor was, but I was so thankful for him.
Cochecton thank you for being there for me. It sure helps to know someone who has been there and done that. My son is so relieved to be treated so good. I think bootcamp made him a little gun shy...he said they treat you like a man. He has never sounded better then when the calls me, he is so up.
This is the time he has waited for, forever. This of course makes the mama
sooooo happy too. And we all know that if mama isn't happy ain't nobody happy

Everdina, My son is also graduating Power School on Sept 25. Everything that I have read and checked into says there is no limit on the attendees. Do you know where you are staying yet? We have reservations at the Villas
