Hi Everyone! My husband and I are from the north shore and are currently stationed in Newport, RI! We are moving to Everett, WA this summer. I'll miss the East Coast :-(

Hi Donna,
I'm glad your dad sailed through. If Andrew is still wanting to go back to school, I might have a few ideas that would help with funding for alternative transportation. I don't remember where you said he wanted to attend, but give me a call or drop me an email (I think we all swapped that info at lunch) and I can fill you or Andrew in at least on how to approach the financial aid office regarding all of this. I hope the transition goes OK for him. Not driving for 6 months would definitely be a drag!

Thank you everyone for your prayers and good wishes. My Dad came thru just fine. I'm the nurse in the family so I'm packing & dressing the wound every day & of course checking in throughout the day - need a new dressing, pain? Stuff like that. Andrew is better than we thought. Got a call from the neuro doc yesterday saying EEG was abnormal & needed to be seen ASAP. Of course he has no regular MD! We were very concerned about the MRI too, the Center side of the family has had 3 deaths due to brain cancers & 2 of them were diagnosed around 27 yrs. old. Andrew turns 27 today. Doc called back saying come to his office at 8AM today. He did have a grand mal seizure, but not sure if it was a 1 time thing. He's on meds and can't drive for 6 months. I think the no driving will be the toughest, but the doc has to notify the RMV so if he's stopped he's in big trouble. He's still hoping to go back to school in Jan. I hope it works out and he can. Thank you all again for your support. I really needed it.
Take care,
Donna
Cindy, praying Dan is "adopted" for dinner! Where in FL is he? We have a few friends & 1 relative in FL maybe he's near to one of them - Pensacola, Jacksonville, & Davie (south FL, ocean side)?? Let me know maybe something can be worked out with one of them.

Hi everyone--It was so nice to meet a few of you (George and Bill too!).
Leslie--hope you are well and please tell George "Hi" from me.
Pam--hope you are well too. Dan still doesn't know what he's doing for Thanksgiving....I hope he gets "adopted" for a dinner!
Jennifer--Hope you are well too, and, please tell Bill "Hi and a BIG THANK YOU" for his service. I know it must have been a tough Veteran's Day for him.
My hubby and I met with a few other Veteran's at Applebees for their free dinner special and we had a great time talking to other Veteran's. Even though we waited an hour to get seated, we had a great time just talking and hearing so many Veteran's stories. They brought tears to my eyes! They were so proud to serve their country and it showed!
Donna--I'm so sorry to hear about Andrew and your Father. Your family is in my prayers and a BIG ((HUG)) to you!!! If you need anything at all (a hug, a coffee, girl talk, positive motivation, a walk through Coldwater Creek, etc)., please let me know!! I live right around the corner from you... :)

Proud Navy/NYPD Mom, been dealing with my mom and her seizure for 3 years now, may I suggest Lahey Clinic in Burlington, they have a special dept. just for seizures, Specialists trained to diagnose , treat, etc anything that has to do with seizures. best of luck, hope it all turns out well, lots of kids outgrow the condition. Neurologists are good, but if you dont get the answers you need, take it to the next step.
