Hi Everyone,
Just to wet your appetites with some of the information for our NE packing party ...........

Donna Proud/NYPD and I have managed to secure a very central venue for all of us ,as we realize that many of you haven't attended a packing party due to the distance !

Sooo without further a do :-
Where. Harrington Hospital ,Harrington ,MA
When ... Saturday December 1st @ 11.30- 5 ( or when we are all boxed up )
With a storm date if needed, Sunday December 2 nd

If we all bring a bg lunch along and something to drink we will be all set to start packing at noon ! We will be announcing who we are packing for and how many , but we do know it will be to arrive at the destination in January , so nothing holiday related ,please .

Remember , not only snacks , toiletries and fun things are well received . There is always room in those boxes for notes , cards , drawings by children . And once the snacks are gone ,the love and encouragement received in a home made card or drawing will last on for months :)

So come on MA Moms , lets make this happen , bring a long a friend ,something to pack, and don't forget the picture of your sailor to share with other Navy Moms .

Lets get chatting here ladies
Thanks for your time

Hi Donna & Sheryl

I'll be there, have you pencilled in already.  I already have two boxes of things I've been putting aside as I go along.

Looking forward to seeing everyone and having some Navy Momma fun......... Let me know if you need me to help out with anything.

Denise (Dee)

Just wanted to let you know that I have Family & Friends coupons for 20% off each item you purchase at the Christmas Tree Store.  They are only good until 11/13, so if you want some let me know right away so we can get them out.

(They even took 20% off a 99 cent item I had in my cart!!!  Can't beat that.)

Hi
I'm glad you found such a central site for the Dec party. Unfortunately, due to health issues activities like this are just not something I can do right now. I wish you good luck with the party! It's always a lot of fun!!!

Sorry to hear you are having health issues!  I feel for you!!  I'm having emergency knee replacement of my other knee on Wednesday.  The knee is completely degenerating in the 5+ weeks from the last x-ray.  I started the year with a right knee replacement and am ending it with the left!!  It is lousy to get older...

Hopefully next time.  I think we are doing a meet and greet, along with some fund-raising.  We are tentatively looking at April.  I'll keep you in the loop, just in case you are able to come out and have some fun!

Hi ladies,

The location of our December Party - is this the main facility at 100 South Street, Southbridge?  When I googled the hospital there were several sites mentioned - Southbridge, Dudley, Webster, etc.

Donna, with your knee surgery and recoup time are you going to be mobile for the event/trip?  If yes, we can carpool if you like.  Let me know what the game plan is, how early you and Sheryl want to get there by etc.   Do we need any signs to direct people to the Conference Room - I can have Russ do some paper signs if needed.  Is the hospital doing anything internally and encouraging employees to participate? Perhaps we can solicit them for any slightly used scrubs, etc.

Hi Dee!  Yes the main facility is 100 South Street, Southbridge.  You know we probably could use signs.  Let me call the contact person at Harrington tomorrow.  All I know is that it is Conference Room 1.

You know me, Denise ... of course I'm going!!  Don't know how mobile I will be, may be using a cane or at the most a walker, but I will definitely be there.  I was going to call you to see if you would mind driving with me.  I know that I will still be on pain meds so I shouldn't drive.  That may just make me a little happier than usual!!!  :)

I know that the physician recruiter (can't remember her name right now) was going to tell Dr. Jim that we are coming & invite him and ask him to invite other ED personnel to stop by - and bring something to pack.  Haven't heard from Dr. Jim.  I wrote him an email on Fri. afternoon, he may have already left for the day so perhaps tomorrow I will hear from him either by email or phone.

PS  You are right, the hospital does have several satellite sites!  But we are going to the main facility in Southbridge.

Denise (dee)
Got your message just now . Need to chit chat with Donna , but great ideas !!!
I will get back to you. Tmrw
Have a great night :)

Sheryl, I have to be at the hospital at 11am tomorrow morning for blood work, x-rays and EKG, plus interviews with nursing and anesthesia depts.  That'll likely take a while.  We should have planned better, think of all we could have covered sitting in waiting areas!!!

Have a good night  :)

If any one has any questions regarding our joint packing party feel free to PM me
