Good for you, Robin!!

Thanks everyone for the info on the wisdom teeth. I also got another great thing - last night I got my first phone call! Oh my gosh did he already sound different...older..more mature...I don't know just can't put my finger on it. We kept talking not knowing when our 'ten minutes' was up and then the phone cut out. I know it wasn't the minutes on the phone card, so it must be something on the bases' side that limits the call time. So I didn't get to say I love you bye, but I'm not complaining. I got to hear him and it settled my heart a bit because he sounded really good and up.

JJ, so good to see you last night. Glad you switched over to Chapter 7. I mailed Craig's card today. It may be late, but he will like that I got it from you. They really are neat cards. Hope your technology is working today. :)

That's why I was surprised when Craig said he was having them out on the ship. He got 2 days to rest and then back to work. He did ok. A little swollen yet, I guess.

Alek did not have to have his wisdom teeth out in boot camp. But several of his division mates did. If the Navy dentist thinks there is a possibility of them having trouble with them with-in the next couple years, they will take them out. I would much rather have them out on dry land then out on a ship in the middle of the ocean!

It's pretty routine that they extract wisdom teeth before they deploy because they don't want to have those issues on the ship, if they can help it. it surprises me that Craig's teeth were just removed, as usually they do that in A school or BC.
carol Comment by carol 1 day ago
Yes, they do. My son didn't have them pulled out in BC, but just last week on the ship he did. We got an email today, said he was still a tiny bit sore, but ok.

I got my second letter last night! Phil said they took his wisdom teeth out??!! Do they pull wisdon teeth on all the recruits that still have them? I didn't think he was having any dental issues that I was aware of. He had just gotten his braces off two weeks before MEPS. I hope it doesn't screw up his orthodontia.

Thanks for posting the pictures! It was so much fun and the food was great!! The other mom was Amanda. (I had to write all the names down because I'm so BAD with remembering names!)

The car has $1200 in damage. The other driver will call me in a few days. He is trying to figure out if he should turn it into an insurance claim or pay out-right.
It will take 3 days to fix. :( I am going to get rid of it! I will replace it with a bright red or yellow one!!! It's my 3rd accident with that car, none have been my fault. GRRRR.
Thanks for asking tho! Sure was fun seeing everyone again.
