JeriLynne - If your son isn't "Grad-n-Go," and you're getting a hotel room there, bring some comfortable clothes for him to change into while he hangs out in your hotel room. They get so tired of wearing their uniforms. If he is out in public, even at the hotel, he has to be in uniform. This is probably a girl thing, but Robin took a loooong hot bath at our hotel. I think she enjoyed the privacy! You are going to be amazed at how much your son has changed! He's on the downhill side of bootcamp now!

So glad that you are going to his graduations. Get ready to cheer - loudly - and cry - so bring kleenex. And get all the hugs you have been miissing. Oh,you might want to take a canera too. :) And you just received the best help from Trinia. Welcome aboard and keep sharing. T-Lynn

Yes I am. I didnt think I would be able to go but we have figured it out and we are going. I cant wait to see him!

Hello JeriLynn ~ My daughter is a fleet returnee - which means she has been in the Navy for 4 years and is changing rate. She just finished up the electronics training in Great Lakes and is on hold there until September, when she will go to San Diego for the rest of the MN training. If your son would like to get in contact with her after he graduates, I can give you her cell #, she's always glad to help newbies out. I don't know much about the MNs, but have do have experience at being a Navy Mom.

Hi all! My son is still at bootcamp with a PIR of 8/7. He is going for MN. I just got a letter today saying he is no longer going to TX but he is going to San Diego....I see a lot of people saying that their sailor stayed in GL for the first part...can anyone fill me in? I am such a rookie!

Very nice to meet another MN mom. My MN is in Sesabo, Japan. He has been there since 08. Very happy to hear that all his family will be together soon. Have awonderful visit and hope the weather is cooperative. Please keep sharing. T-Lynn

My son is in Bahrain on his 1st deployment and it is almost over. He is a mineman and has been transferred to San Diego from Ingleside. He will be arriving in San Diego on 7/15/09. His wife just moved there on July 1st. We are going to see him when he has 2 weeks leave on August 1st.
