Molly's Adopt a Sailor project

As a group, we would like to adopt a group of sailors and send letters and/or packages. I think we N4M could make a big difference in some sailors lives if all of us would just write one letter (you can do more if you want)

Support our Sailors

What is the most critical or best thing I can send?
Your SUPPORT! This is NOT an attempt to resupply the military, or fix every logistical problem. What counts here is the morale of the Sailor. Send a letter or a new Army tank, they both help, but a Sailor that knows he/she has the support of the folks at home will use that tank far better than without the support.
Count on that.

We will continue to do our best to list the items requested by the Sailors.

Again, this is not an effort to get you to spend a bunch of money, it is about you sending support to those who give us the freedom to express our thanks for our freedom.

Will I get a thank you from the Sailor that gets my package?
We hope you do, but we do not guarantee it.

The Sailors are under no obligation to reply. They can't be. We can't burden Sailors are busy doing there jobs. Sure can't have their leadership tell them to reply either. If you get a reply, it is voluntary by that Sailor.

However, if you want to really increase your chances of getting a reply, simply pre-address an envelope to yourself, a few pieces of paper, and maybe a pen and put them in your package. No need for a stamp on the envelope. In your letter to the Sailor which you also put in the box, ask him/her to drop you a quick note or more and ask if there is anything in particular you can send.

Many of the troops are asking that you include your email address in your letters and boxes if you would like a reply or thank you. This is of course far easier for the troops that have Internet access. This is completely voluntary on your part and does not guarantee a reply. But it helps.

Where's the petition I need to "sign" to bring back the "last reply" link?

I liked it too! This way we can keep track of who's been saying what and just go right to that discussion. How frustrating!

Hi Cindy!! I did post last night on Molly's Adopt A Sailor facebook page the link that you started.!!! I absolutely loved it. I posted an update to the website on the night of the 9th. Wanted to make sure they all know how much we appreciate them. ;-) We'll take it down sometime tomorrow and put our regular homepage back up, but they deserve this. Just got back from the Veteran's Day Ceremony here in my little town. John Fears (Past Director of the Veterans Hospital) was the key speaker. He had some wonderful stories about some of the Medal of Honor Recipients, he has met over the course of his years. Good Stuff. Our daughter got some great pix, I'll post them later! Here's to a great afternoon all! 250 scarves....that's awesome!!!! 250 Stockings....plus all the wonderful things everyone is working on to fill those....OHH HOW I LOVE THIS PLACE!

We made it to 250 scarfs. If we have more than that, I have no doubt that the Chaplain will find homes for them. Thank you to everyone who is helping with this project.
