Navy For Moms

Molly had the GREAT idea to send some N4M love to some of our military that are "hurting".
I am going to say that July 12 is the "birthday" of this endeavor. July 13 it got named!!
"M.A.S. Special Hugs" - M.A.S. - for Molly's Adopt a Sailor!!!

From Molly: Hey Moms ---- we are having some wounded guys coming our way. Would you like to make a thread and those who would like to send a card or messages to our wounded ones.

Here is what we want to do. If you see a thread of someone that needs some cards or letters, direct us to them!! We will get in contact with them and find out how they want the cards and letters sent.
There are three possibilities:
(1) They don't mind having their name and addresses posted in this discussion,
(2) They get me the name and address and I'll PM everyone interested after hearing their story or
(3) They give me the name and address and everyone will have to mail their cards to me and I'll forward them on to the "hurting".
In that case, here is my name and address: (sure, come see me anytime!!)
Brenda Bourque
2319 Avenue F
Nederland, TX 77627

OK - Mom's let's get this ball on the roll!!

I am going to keep these names in one place - so people don't have to read through hundreds of pages to find them.
Here they are so far. If you want to know more, go find the stories - but I warn you - get a couple boxes of Kleenex first!!!

Polytrauma is defined as two or more injuries to physical regions or organ systems, one of which may be life threatening, resulting in physical, cognitive, psychological, or psychosocial impairments and functional disability.

That 350 above was April 2007 not 2009!

The VA hospital in Seattle where Ross is at is huge. He is in the spinal cord injury recovery portion, I'm sure there are a lot of different recovery sections too.

Why can't I get the labels to come up with words? Just has the logo and a bunch of musical notes. thanks

hm - maybe if you would sing the tune - the words would come!!

Just kidding - I'm not sure - Molly and others are "perfecting" some labels - and then we will figure out how to get them on here where everyone can print them.

Do you have any version of Microsoft Office?

I've been playing with my Cricut Expression and the new Stand and Salute cartridge. I made a couple cards tonight and I'm trying to figure out how to make a label too. This cartridge has boats, waves, sailor's hats, all the military and patriotic stuff!

Hmm, I can see I'm going to need to get my DIL that cartridge. Then I will need to plead for some cards. She does make lovely ones! This is a great one, Barbara!

The services for Darren Tate were yesterday. Due to having to take hubby back to eye specialist out of town that rebuilt his eye due to accident, I will not be sending the cards recieved from MAS until next Monday. Below is the link to the article in the local newspaper. I must warn you in advance that at the bottom of the article, people can leave comments. There is one that you may find upsetting. If you can, please just either don't read it, ignore it, or find it in your heart to pray for the person. I have found that one of the negative side effects of the internet is that there are some people who think they can say anything because no one knows who they are. For me, I choose to pray for the person and turn my focus back on what is important -- Darren's family.
