Navy For Moms

Our “Holiday Sailors” and More!
I have the HONOR of anouncing...........Our Holiday GROUP

During the Holiday Season this year we have received a “special warm request” from a group of Seabees-YES, I said Seabees, in Afghanistan! The request came from the Battalion Chaplain of NMCB 74. The Chaplain says that they have Seabees in several locations around Afghanistan. He is hoping to do two things this Christmas-geez..Only 2, we can do MORE!

1) Have a smore roast by a campfire-singing Christmas carols and sharing Christmas stories of HOME.

2) He would like to have stockings to hand to his troops.
Moms, we want to send all the “warmth” and “Love” of Christmas to all 250 SEABEES

Now moms, are your hearts melting YET? Well, let’s get busy!
However, before you dash out the door, hear this!
We have had “some” VERY busy elf’s here!
Knit for the Navy Group has been busy knitting away at scarves
Heads at Ease has been busy sewing away at stockings.
A HUGE Thank You to "Lyn Love" who coordinated all our “crafty” Navy Moms!

We are looking for the "Warmth and L♥ve" that comes from “HOME” at Christmas time!
So think WARM, IT BRRRRRRRRRRR freezing in Afghanistan.
So think Stockings, we have to stuff all those stockings!
Think WARM, lets keep our Sailors warm and toasty!

I would also like to give a shout out to “UNO’s Grille” in Kissimmee Florida-UNO’s is accepting donations for Molly’s Adopt a Sailor and in return they are giving out a coupon for a FREE appetizer! Boy, where does it end! We have such an outpouring of support from all over! It’s NOT over yet!
Let’s hear it for our Central Illinois’ Moms who on their own is taking on another special group of 60 in Iraq this holiday season! The love never ENDS!!!!!

As Always, Please use our Molly’s Adopt a Sailor Labels on all items! Mailing Dates on November 27-December 5th, so let's start the HOLIDAY PARTY

I have one last think I would like to add!
I am a mom of a sailor aboard USS Rodney M. Davis, which was adopted last holiday season by Molly’s Adopt a Sailor. I could NEVER begin to explain how I felt knowing that my son’s ship was receiving all the love that Molly’s Moms have and MORE. The day the BAGS of mail arrived aboard the Davis my son just so happen to be there with our “contact” CMC Smith! Well let’s just say, Cannot repeat what came out of the CMC’s mouth! Shock and Awe, should explain it! My son called me a few hours later letting me know the mail was dropped and dropped big. My son received over 15 cards that Christmas and he read them repeatedly! He said “Mom it gets pretty lonely on this small” ship; So, I am “Paying it forward” Molly’s Moms Style!

PS-thanks Molly, it was about time you let me do this! L♥VE YOU SISTA!!!!
Please USE these LABELS so that CHAPPY knows they are from US...♥

Will send 250 - 300 cards as well. Also have small candy canes, box of 100 and am trying to find another one. For popcorn -- what about Jiffy Pop? It's designed to be done in microwave or over flame -- you could just carefully fold back the wire handle for packing. Kroger's is having a really great stock up sale right now in our area. Chapstick, Ricola cough drops, Orbit gum, Albacore tuna in pouches, buy 10 and the price comes down to 50cents each. Swiss Miss Cocoa is 75cents a box (buy 10). Also, the bags of chex mix, cheerios mix, ghardettos and stuff is at a really great price too (regular sized bags not snack size). This is when I try to stock up to have for later boxes as well. There's more, but you can check out this week's sale at their site online. Hope it helps. The hershey bars I was talking about are the snack size and 2 will go on a smores. The chocolate won't leak out of those and they can always cut a corner and squeeze out onto the crackers if it melts. Just a thought. Usually the thing with the chocolate is the separating of the fat from the rest of it, which is what causes a white coating to form on them sometimes when the chocolate gets hot-sweats-and cools. The chocolate is still edible, just looks a little different. Taste is the same. 600 isn't so bad, it coulda been 6,000 -- LOL!!!

I sent an email to a bunch of friends telling them about Molly's, Heads at Ease and the one-time Nimitz project and have gotten some incredible results. My step dad is sending a check, I made the stockings for the Nimitz out of Christmas fabric that had belonged to my Mom before she died. A friend sent a check for $125!! A friend from highschool joined our group on the website and is willing to do some sewing too. A friend who is a veteran put our information in their veteren group newsletter. So far that's all I've heard from but at this rate I'll be packing boxes and sewing indefinitely!!
I saw a soldier at 7-11 today, knocked on his car window and mouthed "Thank you" to him, he smiled and waved. He couldn't have been more than 19.
You all are so amazing, it really makes one feel that the world WILL go on when surrounded by such warmth and love!

Ok, you have a brain dead Navy Mom here. I have 20 or Colorado parents packing Colorado Love Boxes as I write this and I forgot we had to get the address in a different way. I did put my request out on MAS and Molly's webpage, but is it possible someone could PM me the address (Miss Molly maybe). We have ALOT of boxes that just need to be addressed and they will be ready. Must be my old age setting in. Thanks to whoever can help. I'll keep checking.

Chris: did you join the other room that has the address in it? There's a link somewhere that has it in here a few pages back and I thought up at the top.

Yep, I had applied, but not until today...not a good plan. Thanks so much to Tina and ADN for the help. Colorado packed 59 Colorado Love Boxes and will be shipping on November 27th. After church tomorrow I will post some pictures. We had about 18 Colorado family members help put the boxes together.Cards and Candy from St. Joan of ARC school, as well as an unbelievable amount of stuff from all over made for a lot of fun packing up. Thanks again to all the mommies on Miss Molly's site for the powerfully strong LOVE that flows over so very many Sailors.
