Molly's Adopt a Sailor project

As a group, we would like to adopt a group of sailors and send letters and/or packages. I think we N4M could make a big difference in some sailors lives if all of us would just write one letter (you can do more if you want)

Support our Sailors

What is the most critical or best thing I can send?
Your SUPPORT! This is NOT an attempt to resupply the military, or fix every logistical problem. What counts here is the morale of the Sailor. Send a letter or a new Army tank, they both help, but a Sailor that knows he/she has the support of the folks at home will use that tank far better than without the support.
Count on that.

We will continue to do our best to list the items requested by the Sailors.

Again, this is not an effort to get you to spend a bunch of money, it is about you sending support to those who give us the freedom to express our thanks for our freedom.

Will I get a thank you from the Sailor that gets my package?
We hope you do, but we do not guarantee it.

The Sailors are under no obligation to reply. They can't be. We can't burden Sailors are busy doing there jobs. Sure can't have their leadership tell them to reply either. If you get a reply, it is voluntary by that Sailor.

However, if you want to really increase your chances of getting a reply, simply pre-address an envelope to yourself, a few pieces of paper, and maybe a pen and put them in your package. No need for a stamp on the envelope. In your letter to the Sailor which you also put in the box, ask him/her to drop you a quick note or more and ask if there is anything in particular you can send.

Many of the troops are asking that you include your email address in your letters and boxes if you would like a reply or thank you. This is of course far easier for the troops that have Internet access. This is completely voluntary on your part and does not guarantee a reply. But it helps.

I want to be a hermit tooo Pillow ~~ I just love sitting in my home :)
Going to do that right after Tucker leaves for Japan --sit and do nothing,
except for getting ready for the big MAS NPO/EIN in January :)

Laura, I am so sorry about your grandma. How old was she? in ill health?

I knew tha FPO/APO but not the rest. So great information Laura and thanks for double checking Diane. We'd sure hate for these things to not get there!

Molly, I love your Christmas wall. Those are the most cherished items. I was working on my new craft room yesterday and Ray kept saying "why are you keeping this?" And of course, my response was "cause Ben made it".
So there, hubby! I'll show him your wall.

now shopping for me. worked all day on the room. actually, I am blessed. other than walking across the street on Thursday to go for dinner, I havne't left the house since Tuesday night. And I love it! defiintely needed some hermit time-actually work in the house time.
I host a big craft fair at my house the 1st Saturday in Dec and I need to get it ready.

Laura ---sorry about Grandma :(
That was a great explaination Laura I knew the FPO/APO ---but I never understood the AE/AA/AP thing.

Jeano ---ummm no I dont think if you loose a tooth on black friday you get more money ~~ LOL Nive try Kids !! LOL
I went out yesterday at 5 am to see the best buy laptop for 197.00, what they failed to mention is that you had to come get a ticket for it days earlier. So I left and that didnt get a thing ~ no shopping for me (I worked)
BUT I did put up my beloved Xmas wall.
Every year I cry with joy when its all put up. Its the most priceless thing I own.
Years of things my children have made me ~~

That makes sense now Laura....
When my sailor was in Cuba, his was APO AE - And went to NY Customs....
now that he's on Fleet in SanDiego...his is FPO AP - Customs in Calif.
Thanks for that insight!!!
2-questions....How was everyone's Black Friday? Any deals? -and-
Does the tooth fairy give extra $ when the little guy loses a tooth on Black Friday? (One big brother said yes...one said no)!

AE is Air Europe, AA i think is something like Air Asia or Air Arabia or Air Africa for the next part of the world over there that the mail is going to. APO is Air Post Office and FPO is Fleet Post Office. At least that's what I remember my Dad saying about it. Usually the FPO goes by way of the Pacific Ocean area and the APO goes by way of the Atlantic Ocean route. AP is Air Pacific. -- Okay, time to google all this stuff again. We just finished painting diningroom and kitchen for easy makeover. Looks soooo much better. We'll redo the floor next year sometime. Grandma died yest. :( Sailor's ship leaves out again, so he can't come home for funeral.
