I also received word last night that my son and his shipmate's house made it through without major damage. Very high winds and a lot of hail. Relieved to know they are all okay.

We are from the Houston area in Texas and often experience hurricanes but he said this was nothing in comparison.

Prayers for peace, strength and comfort for those affected!

Received word last night that son's house is still standing.  South end of their street was flattened.  They were not home, as leave started Monday and they are on their way to us.  Hope everyone else is okay and did not suffer any loss.

Hello Ladies, I'm a little late to comment, but my husband and I have just moved here in September (our first duty station). He is in VQ4 as an AM.... MomsSR, I am pretty sure your son was at our house for Thanksgiving and we went to the home show this weekend with him... My husband enjoys having him to talk to!

Ladies, it is nice to see a few people chatting! The last group my son was in from DC had about 30 moms/girlfriends/wives that were very active on this site. I was missing that! I stand corrected, my son is VQ4 and working in the line shack. They call him AE3. Anyone else VQ4? He was in C school there this summer then did his 90 days with honor guard and is back. We are from Indiana. Just thought I might share a little background in case someone might know him.

LHow fun to have your son home!! It's always a treat. Our son was home for Christmas. We will see him again in August for his Grandmas 80th birthday and then again in September for our oldest son's wedding. Otherwise we only see him once a year.

Pretty sure all our sons know each other or know of each other....it is a very small community.  My son is home on leave right now....nice to have him home for another week.  I got to visit him and his wife last September...OKC is a nice town with plenty to do.  Hope to go again this spring when he is not "on the road".

My son just moved into his apt this weekend. What a fun experience for him!. I am wondering if our sons and husbands know each other. There is such a small group of sailors on the base.
