I would like to ask everyone to pray for Petty Officer 3rd Class James R. Layton, 22 and his family, a sailor from Riverbank, CA who was killed in Afghanistan.

Just stopping by to say hi! My son will be leaving for boot camp one month for labor day and the its off to A school for AHT! Hope all is well you everyone. Have a great day and weekend!!!

Yes I am trying not to think of the far away pary yet
just thinking of the 18 days at home right now
And his birthday is then too..........

i am anticipating a mini thanksgiving & Christmas celebration too
cause he won't be here for either

Marcy, Thanks so much, Eric was saying as much I just wasn't sure he had it right but guess so. So if I want to attend the Grad. ceremony and pick him up for leave, looks like I will be making two trips to GL, oh well.

Good Luck to Jeff, I will keep him in my prayers I'm sure it is going to be hard to have him so far away, hope you have a good visit with him while he is on leave.

OK here goes :)

Jeff graduates "A" school on Tues 9/1
I cannot be there for whatever ceremony they may have.
I know it is not as elaborate as basic grad

His leave won't start tho' til 9/11 or 9/12
He will only have 18 days then reports to
Japan Oct 2

And as with all things in the Navy
everything is subject to change
:)

Glad all was not as bad as it seemed

Marcy, (jeffs mom) Thanks for the advice. I found out that the score wasn't as bad as he had lead me to believe, and he still was third in his class and only missed second by 2/10 of a %! So his frustration was not in fear of failure, but not finishing top of the class. Eric is set to graduate HT on 9/28 a Monday.
Maybe you can answer this question, since your sons grad date is a Tuesday.
Do you expect he can start his leave right after graduation? I want to go to the ceremony, and would like to pick him up for leave at that time. He is supposed to have two weeks before he reports to his next assignment. Since your son is graduating soon, I thought you might have some knowledge of the proceedure. Thanks!

To Erics mom

My son struggled with a test or 2 also
and still got HT school

He was on hold but only for a week

He graduates "A" school on Tues
No advice...
other than I have already learned not to go up
and down with my son's ups and downs or
we're both gonna be nuts, LOL

(((hugs)))

Each case is different
but I know some times they can repeat a test if the yget a bad score.

I haven't been on for a while. I am moving back to California in the Fairfield area shortly, so I have been packing, packing, packing. My family is happy that I am coming "home", and so am I. This desert life in Nevada is for the birds. I'll be in touch soon. Take care.

Question for any HT mom's. My son just passed his BECC and is on hold for HT school, which he thinks at this time will only be until Monday (fingers crossed!) He scored his lowest mark on the final BECC exam, and he is worried that it will afftect his orders. He had gotten 90% on all other exams so he still has a good average. But he is real down right now with this last test. Did any of your kids have trouble if they didn't score high on each exam? I'm worried he will get discouraged and not study as hard in the HT Strand and then really have trouble. Any advice? Thanks
