Kyle got his orders and will be going to SanDiego and reporting to USS BonHomme Richard (LHD 6)....he does not know the date he will leave yet. His last day of school will be next Tuesday. He is excited about his next step in the NAVY.

My son Jake returns to Norfolk tomorrow (10th). I only spent a small amount of time with him because the new wife is #1 and I am #2 now. Don't ya just hate it when they grow up so fast. lol. Kathy, what is a Deeper?

My son, Dallas, is a Deeper and received the job he wanted as a hull tech. I am very proud of his choice.

SHPRD, Jake is under Chief Townsen. He is the HT that made, "Sailor of the Year" in March.

Hello ladies, I've just returned from visiting my son and new wife, grandson. It was so nice to hug him again. They went to court yesterday to get permission to take little Aiden out of California. The judge was so rude. Jake was in his working whites (so handsome). He wouldn't let my daugther in law leave the state with her son. Aidens father is really a dead beat. His family has money and says that they want full custody. Its sad that my son won't be able to return to Va with his family. Mediation didn't work before, so I don't understand what makes the judge think it will work again. He's probably getting paid to drag this case along. I'm so mad. Its not fair.

James' Mom; at PIR with my son several parents were talking about the Grad N Go. There were a couple of different ways it was handled. Some indeed were sent to the airport right after graduation to be shipped to thier "A School" I talked with one set of parents and they were allowed to go to the Airport and stay with their son until he left. But, many were just simply sent accross the street to "A School" in GL. Most of these kids had to pack up and move right after PIR and were not given Liberty until 4pm that day. But they also were allowed to stay off base until Sunday night. One family was staying at the Hotel we were in. It might help if you knew what he was going to be training for after BC, some fields only have A School at GL, hope this helps you.

Grad & go means they leave for their assignment right away.....
Now for my ds, it just meant he started school on Wed after grad @ Great Lakes......

It can me they leave right after graduation to their school or assignment...
some went to Pensacola right away......
