So glad you got together with PNBM. I'm sure he was wonderful to meet. You can just read his thoughtfulness in his post.

I met our proud navy boatmans last night and OMG what a wonderful guy --just as wonderful and helpful as he is here on the site.
Tucker came with and he was so taken by how cool and neat he was :)

Wamom: I just happened to reread your last post....don't know how I missed this one....but I actually was in Okinawa as a little girl. My dad was in the Air Force and he was stationed there for 2 1/2 years!!! We went over on a ship...the USS Gaffey. I was pretty young....6 or so.....most of my memories are of the base.

WELCOME SUE (Nate's Mom) I just noticed that we jumped from 60 to 61 members....in my search, trying to find our newest mom, I came across a post from Sue in the "Undesignated Airman" discussion. I am so glad you found us. This is a wonderful group of very supportive moms, along with a couple of members still in the Navy. I'm very glad your son is "okay" with the undesignated rate....it makes it so much easier when our kids are comfortable with what's happening. Stay in touch. We'll do our best to answer...or find the answer...to any questions!

Molly: Nope, he didn't tell me what flight. He gets into Phoenix about 8:30 PM and GF is picking him up. They're stopping off to see some friends who'll be leaving town on Saturday....and THEN he'll come home! Saturday morning I have the DEP picnic in Tucson.....but then I have him all of Sunday and I took Thursday and Friday off next week!! Okay, where do I get skype??? Next month is Cory's 21st birthday and I got him a laptop!!!

Wamon: I am so glad things are turning around for Wes. It takes a little time to adjust and make friends. Sounds like he's doing a lot better.

Hi friends,
I got to skype with Blake on Tuesday when he was at the USO in Okinawa. He sounded better, he had explored some with other sailors. We got an email today where he said he was starting to feel better and the food in Japan was delicious. His closing words were, "I have to go to bed soon so I can get up for watch, I like it because I get to see the sunrise on the ocean, it's awesome," I know everybody's prayers have made a difference. He has only been gone two weeks, so I am feeling very blessed that he is adjusting so quickly.

YEAH Wes ---no way thatis great news , so he could get what he wanted :) Fingers crossed Fingers crossed

Julie --- do you know flight schedual ? We dont yet because they are orders, so today sometime he should call with confirmation flights.
Tucker was going to try to get to VA to spend time with Colton but that just didnt work out :( Im so excited to see him, we have LOTS to do before he leaves for japan. (get skype, get xmas tree up so he can decorate with us, go to a basketball game while he is here)

Hello wonderful friends! :o)

Wes just called me and was sooooo excited!!!.....and I am jumping for JOY right now. He went to the Career Counselor today. The CC put his ASVAB scores into the fleet ride program and two of the rates that Wes wanted AD-Aviation Machinist and AM-Aviation Mechanic were OPEN! He told Wes that those rates were not there yesterday! Also, he was not scheduled to see Wes for a year! Good thing that Wes took it upon himself to check into this. Wes said he just felt like he was suppose to go today.

Wes has a appointment with a board next Tuesday, after that it looks like he will be able to strike for AD. YEAH, YEAH, YEAH!!!! Please remember him in your thoughts and prayers and cross your fingers with me that this will all turn out good next Tuesday!!!! Thank You all for your help and support!!! ttyl CHOW!
