For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Redheadlass, E2’s were his second choice. One of his best friends just winged as an E2 NFO and is headed to his FRS! I’m sure it’s a very different feeling when they are actually deployed.

Comment by redheadlass on November 1, 2023 at 9:36pm: Congratulations Glenni! That seems to have happened so fast! My son is now in his first squadron as an E2D pilot and he is on his first deployment with his squadron currently.

Comment by Glenni on November 1, 2023 at 9:24pm: As of tomorrow my son will be a Hellion with Helo training wing 28! It's hard to believe that he's starting his advanced training. This journey seems like it's gone really fast, and before we know it he'll be winging and going to his FRS!

I was honestly hoping he would go to one of the squadrons that has the new helo trainers, but he's content with what he got. It helps that one of his best friends is a couple of months ahead of him in the same unit.

Unfortunately, he has been extended and was told even before the extension that he was going to have to deploy again. With the way things are in the world right now, it seems nothing is "normal"

Comment by CheriH on October 18, 2023 at 6:02pm: Glenni, it's my understanding that test pilot stints are a shore tour following the first squadron tour. At least it was for jets. They get to submit their choices; ranked; and then they see what happens. My DS had test pilot for his 2nd choice, but got his 1st which was Topgun. I know helos are managed differently; so I don't know for sure. I hope he gets his choice!
