Hello Photo-lovin' Navy Moms out there...I am a Navy Mom newbie with a son doing his MEPS this week  & I am also a professional photographer...Little did I know that dressing up my little man in sailor suits for pictures, I was preparing him for the real thing....makes me cry just thinking about how time has flown.....waaa!

Josh was 6 years old when I took this pic of him....this was his daddy's sailor suit that he wore as a little boy. The one below was of his dad, grandpa & great grandpa....this was Josh's first professional photos and of course he had a sailor suit then too(One of the few pictures I didn't take....I began my photography career just a few months later, just about the time Josh could sit up & crawl.....It's funny...his dad thought he'd join the Navy, but procrastinated after HS, then met me, got married & now we've raised a son who will be in the Navy

I LOVE THIS PICTURE BELOW AND WAS WONDERING HOW I CAN GET THIS BACKGROUND AND MAKE A PICTURE LIKE THAT OF MY SON!? HE HAS AN ACTUAL SAILOR OUTFIT WITH HAT AND ALL WHEN HE WAS ABOUT 6 MONTHS OLD AND I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE SOMEONE HELP ME WITH THIS OR PAY FOR IT! I AM NEW TO ALL OF THIS AND PRETTY MUCH LOST! HE IS MY ONLY SON..WELL ONLY CHILD AND I AM TRYING TO DEAL WITH HIM GOING INTO THE MILITARY. I WAS PREPARED FOR HIM TO LEAVE BUT THINKING COLLEGE MAYBE 8 HOURS AWAY NOT ALL AROUND THE WORLD AND NEVER KNOW ANYTHING..THAT I WAS NOT! I DO NOT EVEN UNDERSTAND THE LANGUAGE AND TRYING TO RETAIN WHAT I AM LEARNING AS FAST AS I CAN! I AM BLESSED TO KNOW I HAVE HIM FOR THE HOLIDAYS BUT I AM JUST NOT WITH THE REST! I LOVE PHOTOGRAPHY AND THIS PICTURE JUST TOUCHED MY HEART! THANKS FOR ALL ADVICE...I LIVE IN TEXAS NEAR DALLAS AND HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND TOO MANY TO HELP OR GET TOGETHER!

If anyone in this group lives within driving distance to New Port Richey FL (surrounding areas include Holiday, St Petersburg, Clearwater etc I will be there on vacation and I am going to have a get-together for all of my navy Mom friends who would like to join us on Wednesday afternoon/evening. I will have goodies/food and we can all sit around (or in if you prefer) the pool and just have a fun time getting to know each other and talking about our recruits and Sailors. If anyone is in that area and would like to join us please send me an email and let me know. My hubby will be away on a fishing trip and we were gonna do it Monday because he wants to be there but that is our 1st wedding anniversary <3 So, I would love to have you join me and others and you will get to meet my Sailor as well :-) The date is Wednesday June 27th. If you would like to meet but that afternoon or evening isn't good for you let me know and we will set up a another time while I am there :-) I am so excited to meet some of my navy Mom friends!!!
