Any Navy moms close to the Tampa Area?

HI trish,

I live in Plant City, FL, which isn't that close to New Port Richey, but there is another group called "Tampa Bay Moms" and I think I remember seeing others from the New Port Richey area. I see your son leaves right after the holidays. I'm sure you're going to treasure every moment before he leaves. Good luck and keep checking this site. You'll get a lot of great info and probably meet other parents whose kids are going through bootcamp with yours.

Trish, I live in Palm Harbor and am part of the Tampa Bay Area group. Check out our group. There are several others who live around here. I would love to get together and chat. Also we are trying to plan a get together for early spring, maybe in a park as there are a lot of us.

I live in Clearwater--a little south of you. My son is in A school now. I don't have transportation now, but I love to get together if we can work it out

I also am on the Tampa Bay Moms. I live in Valrico/brandon area. My son in BC now (it's brrrr...cold, mom...but it's beautiful")

Hey Fanny,

Yes I did! I had him take his cell phone and we chatted a bit when he landed in Chicago. I enjoyed that phone call (because it was longer)much more then my 10 second call around 9:30pm last night. I miss him a lot.

I am from spring Hill, FL not too far from new port richey.... I am in Virginia now for the commission of the G.Bush carrier. I will be back in town on Monday night. Its so nice to spend time with my son :-) where is your son shipping out too??

Silvia~my son is in GL's at BC. He then goes to Pensacola and then I am not sure where. He just left Jan 7,2009. I can't wait for PIR!!

I'm from Plant City and our son's ship (USS Green Bay) is being commissioned next week in California. We're flying out to attend and just wondering what you thought of the commissioning? Can't wait.

We too are looking forward to having a little time with our son.

Hi Trish,
I live in the Bradenton area and have a nephew in the navy. His sister is in Orlando area as well so its just over the bridge from here. I may be able to meet on a BI-Monthly basis not sure just yet, but I'll let you know I would love to meet with the other mom's.
