Angie those are both two very different entities and they both have risk factors- most important is to get her nourished for strength first. Glad they are keeping her for the extra day - think they need to rethink what is outpatient for some is not for others.

She is in my prayers foremost and I hope for her this is what she needed. God bless ya Florence if you are reading this.

Thanks, Cindy. I know Ordy said that you were keeping in touch. Please let us know how it goes. And let her know we do care about her. Safe trip for you, if you go.

Cindy, bless you my fellow HM Mom. :) I feel better just knowing someone is "close" by enough to be there for her and assess her overall needs. Standing by to assist as needed. If you talk to her, please pass on our love and tell her she is being bathed in prayers. :)

I talk to Florence everyday! Her internet is back on. The last operation she had her heart stopped 4 times. She is very weak and she has only a very sm pouch for a stomach. She as not been able to keep anything down for a good while now. She is very worn out for continual vomitting (sorry) her body is just depleted. Plus, the other health factors.

Let's keep her in our prayers. This is an outpatient procedure but, in her case they will keep her overnight. They will show her how to take care of her tube. I do have contact information. I will let you know as I know. I maybe going, it is around a 2 hour drive. I will keep all of you posted!!

Thanks, Angie. I was hoping that I had gotten the info right.
I know that he also said that her computer was not always working, so she hasn't been on line. She doesn't have any help at home.

Florence has Parkinsons and struggles with Lupus as well. Gloria, how do those things factor in and/or complicate her surgical issues?

It is amazing that things that used to be life threatening life surgeries can now be done (sometimes as outpatient procedures-tho not these I'm sure!) with lazers and with quicker recovery times! My prayers are with Florence for surgical success, strength and restored health! Carol, I got a note from Ordy too. I know he has her contact info. Anyone know a name of someone she works together with in her local Gold Star Moms chapter that we could contact? Let's keep in touch and let me know if you hear of any practical help she needs afterwards. I can try to get our GA Moms and Rescue Sailor Group rolling if needed. Adam served in my State last. The least my WA statemates can do is continue to help look out for the welfare of his Mom!

Carol - As a nurse have worked with plenty of patient's that had pacemaker's and it is routine to turnoff for procedures and as soon as over it is turned right back on. Also as a GI nurse have assisted with many placements of feeding tubes. Modern medicine is quite spectacular and add that with prayers - can't ask for more. Hope I helped.

Ladies, I just talked to Ordy. Florence needs our prayers, many of them. She is in some serious health problems.
She needs to have a feeding tube put in her small intestines on Tuesday. They will need to stop her pace maker (if I have this all right) in order to do the procedure. She has a Do Not Resuscitate order. Please pray for the success of this procedure and that it will help her. Please pray for her strength of will to live. I have asked for prayers on my other sites as well.
If any one has any other info on this, please let us know.
God bless all.
