Question about religious medallions

Started by Maggie. Last reply by momof3TX-Becca Jun 2. 3 Replies

I read that the recruits are allowed one silver medallion no bigger than a dog tag, but when are they ok to wear it...I also read they can't wear it while in uniform. Is this just something they can keep with their personal items?Continue

My son had his PIR July 30 and it was a beautiful ceremony! I was disappointed that I only got 7 hours with him on Friday....then he was sent to Pensacola for his A School. It was a chartered flight, sigh, so I didn't even get to see him off at the airport. I DO have phone contact with him....now, that is awesome! He looked wonderful and I am so proud of him. He survived boot camp well.

Anti-M.... my daughter is going in AECF?? then after that, either EC or FT?? I know these probably aren't the right acronyms, my question is.. is she like low man on the totem pole? I am not sure of all the jobs, but her buddy that she recruited to the Navy is going Nukes, and I know that is very high up and she will get a rank higher in her pay for recruiting him and two other boys. Is her job a good job, a so-so job, what? LOL I don't care either way, we all have to do something and I'm a very low class job where I work, I am just very proud of her and courage she has shown and to all service men/women for what they do.... I'm just curious as to what these job's mean LOL

Hi all -
My daughter graduated from boot camp 5/28/10, but is still on hold for medical reasons. She'll have surgery on 8/10. She's doing fine - just bored to death wrangling new recruits!
She can't wait to go to San Antonio for her "A" school (MA).....

Hello everyone.
My son graduated July 9th and is Great Lakes "A" school. He is doing the Machinist Mate training. He should be finished by October and then gets to come home for about 15 days!
Bootcamp was really challenging, but he and everyone from his Division survived!

cool kk...I thought there were 5 flags or so but wasn't sure what they were all for. That's great to know...copy and paste

I found the flag information, there are 5, one each the Division as a whole can earn, for Personal inspections, physical fitness testing, scholastic tests, marching, and bunk and galley inspection.

Anit M,
(sigh) - a lot to reflect on. I understand totally. I catch my self doing the retrospective thing all the time.
