there is a very good chance that you know my son and the other boy stationed here in Fort Worth. It is very nice that you can take care of your mother, I am sure she appreciates you and all you do. I will pray that my son can stay in Norfolk and not return here. There are too many high school "bad" influences here and returning would not help in the least. That is why we were so happy he joined the Navy. I bet your boyfriend is excited about deployment. I would be. I know you all do some wonderful things over there to help those people.

haha no i definately know what you're talking about. i went in two years ago. i'm 21, but i grew up very early. my mother was shot in 2002. she's alive but it was alot to grow from. i also went into the reserves but it was mainly to be able to help my mother while still serving. typically when someone gets hurt in the pre-deployment training and it invloves surgery or a bad injury, they send you home. alot of people have already come home to my drill center in san antonio for the same reason. my boyfriend is still out there and pretty excited about his third deployment... he'll be able to pay for our whole wedding and other things, so he's ready and rarin' to go. lol. but yeah.... after surgery and whatnot he should be coming home. i'm staying in plano with my mom while my boyfriend is deployed. maybe me and your son actually know each other... hmm.

I hope he doesn't come home after surgery. There isn't anything here in Arlington for him. What do they normally do when someone gets hurt? I wished he had gone active duty instead of reserve 3 years ago when he joined. I know he wishes that too. I know this sounds bad....but I wanted him to deploy so he would grow up. He's 21 going on 13 if you know what I mean. Great kid, but lost in many ways.

I wish I was going to the family day! I still have to cancel my hotel reservations I have in Gulfport. My son, Del, hurt his knee and is now in Norfolk for surgery. Doesn't look like he will deploy with the NMCB22. I'm not really sure what he will be doing or where they will finally place him.

I hope it is ok if I join this group! I have a son in reserves here getting ready to deploy in a few weeks! I have so many questions that no other group can address. Not to mention not knowing what to expect!!
