Hi Ladies ! (Hi Nancy !)
wow .... I just wrote this really nice long message & then ... it was gone.

Its been sooo long since I spoke with any of you. I miss having everyone to talk to & hearing about everyone & their sailors. Well, I lost my job back in the beginining of the yr & was so worried abt finding another. And everyone here was so supportive, Thank you ! Well, I did ! And I got a promotion ! I am a college Admissions Advisor ! And, I work with MILITARY PERSONNEL ! Helping all ACTIVE DUTY, Veterans, & Spouses get their education. We help them with their TA (Tuition Assistance, for Active Duty & Reserve), GI Bills, & veterans who have expired their time eligibility, and spouses. My school even offers a discount for Military Personnel & their spouses. I am so happy to help them & tell them about the benefits that to my surprise, alot of them do not even know they have ! I enroll students everyday that get their education for free ... yea, I said FREE ! (Any questions, PM or eMail me @ kgb218@gmail.com)
Hope you all & yours are doing well ! I know the ship has been out for awhile now & everyone can hardly wait for their return !
Take Care & keep in touch ! I will try to come back soon (now that I had to reset my password, cuz I locked myself out, duh !)

John and Yvonne, Congratulations on being grandparents, I have a new granddaughter due on November 13th. This will be number 6. My son is stationed in Virginia, on the Carl Vinson.

That is just too cute about the green parrot. You'll have to let me know if you get the parrot to say praise the lord.

Have a good week, T

Hi all,

I haven't been on here in a long time! I've missed being here, but have been really busy. I am now the Senior Adult Pastor and Pastoral Care Director at our church which keeps me going.

My daughter and her husband have made Yvonne and me new grandparents for the first time - a grandson who they named Jacob Benjamin. Fortunately they live about half an hour from us so Yvonne makes sure we go up to see him every week.

Our ministry to the military also continues every weekend in Virginia Beach. We're actually waiting for some of our sailors to come over this evening. Praise God, isn't life fun! :)

And, oh, by the way, we are also babysitting a green parrot for a neighbor friend of ours. What a hoot that is! If we walk out of the room he says "Come here." We're trying to teach him how to say "praise the Lord." If we walk out of the room he will sqwak litke crazy! Yvonne will put the towel over his cage and you hear this little voice say "oh oh." Then, as we walk away he'll say in a tiny voice "Heeelp. Heeelp." Then he quiets right down.

My son Jake is in DET4. He's been in Little Creekk for 8 years. He has his own house in Chesapeake. He may be interested in selling it soon. Let me know.

Karol, we all have out talents. so no worries. I had to laugh about the smoke alarm, cause I usually set that off with the microwave.

Francine - Enjoy your visit with your sailor! I know I am!! Cooking up a storm and loving every minute of it. Chili, Chicken Tortilla Soup, Chicken Pot Pie - next his very favorite...Pork Roast, Sauer Kraut, Mashed Potatoes and Corn Bread! So much fun to have him home. I am so proud of the man he has become.

Welcome moore821. This is a great group and all these ladies will jump in on any questions you have. Wonderful group here!

Oh, I miss the cooking too. It seemed like when my son left all his buddies in the area did too; I was so sad. But every now and then I get a visit from one of his buddies just to check in on me. What a surprise and a sweetheart. I didn't expect it and it pulled on my heartstrings. Made me cry I was so surprised.

My son will be home soon this week for a visit and Ive already bought groceries on top of groceries! Going to make the house smell like cooking all the time! Even when Im at work; it's going to smell like someone's cooking!LOL

I think they are making life long friends, my son still contacts guys he met in A school. What a brotherhood. By the way my son is coming home to TN in October. I can't wait to cook his favorite meals for him. I didn't get to cook when I was out there this month, so I'll be cooking up a storm when he comes home. It's amazing how many dinner quest you have when your children are at home. I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
