Hi all, I am looking for recommendations on housing in Norfolk. I preferably looking for townhouses/apartments. Thanks for any recommendations. The only problems i dont like are bugs, and gang areas. Thanks.

I was just wondering if there was anyone in Richmond that could look in on my son from time to time. He is getting trfered to the VA hospital tomorrow the 17th. He took a bad spill on his motorcycle 7-01-2009. He is goin to be there for sometime. I live in the state of Washington and just cant be there. I am working on another trip back but its not going to be for sometime. He has no one in Richmond. The freinds he has are all in Norfolk and they are going to take turns and try to get there on the weekends. We just know they cant be there all the time. Michael is not allowed to do any weight bearing on his foot leg or wrist. This is going to make trying to walk very hard for him. He still is unable to get out of bed on his own. Hes doing better about getting soild food to eat. He has made great improvement there. I knew he would. He like to eat. He was a feeding tube for just over a month with not even water for about 30 days.
But now he has to transfer and I do talk to him everyday now since his jaw has been unwired I was hoping to find someone that could look in on him.
Thanks for reading.

Congratulations USS Mitscher! Soooo very glad to have you all back home safe and sound! Prayers having been answered! What an awesome welcoming it was, even if the rained drenched the earth, it did not the spirit!

Welcome Julie. There are a lot of people who will be able to help you with Norfolk. I have not lived there for 16 years and was lost when we were there 2 months ago. My son is currently out to sea.

Hello Denise,
My heart goes out to you and your son, I can not imagine what you are going through. I wish there was a way I could help. No matter how old they are they are still your child. I hope everything goes well for you and your son, I will keep you guys in all my prayers.

I wish I had known...I was just in Norfolk 2 weeks ago. I would have gone to see him.

Does anyone have a Sailor who might be interested in sub-leasing an apartment from October thru December of this year? My son and his room-mate are going on a 3 month surge and would like to have someone stay there while they are gone. It is in VA Beach (Mayfair Apartments). 2BR 1 BA It is furnished with the basics...dishes, nice big TV, futon, air matresses, dinette, vacumn, iron. The carpet is new and there is a nice balcony. The rent is $400/ mo. each although he might take less. So if anyone needs a temporary place just to get off the ship for a few months, please let me know.
