Hello N.C. Moms,
Tim, called tonight with flight info. Leave is approved and we are going to pick him up, from the airport tomorrow morning!! Got the welcome home banners back out again, picked up a new ice cream cake welcoming him home and the guy behind the counter at Wally World, who has only been in the country for eight months, wrote "Welcome Home Tina" on the cake. I had to laugh.
He is still waiting on his orders but his security clearance is no longer on hold so things seem to be moving some finally.

If you haven't already, read over the guidelines for this site from Admin. If you click on the tab for Main and scroll down just a few topics you will see the guidelines and OPSEC guidelines. I don't know if that is what the Pensacola group pointed you to but the guidelines specifically states no last names including your own if your sailor's last name is the same.
Again, just wanting to keep your sailor safe!!!!

Anna: In the link for Pensacola where they welcome new members..They tell us not to use their first and last names together. So that is why I was confused.
But thanks for the reminder...I will not encourage any use of last names...only in private e-mals. We are having a quiet Thanksgiving then looking forward to seeing our son over Christmas...

Hutch's Mom,
I just want to keep yours and all our sailors safe. Because we don't want outsiders knowing who our sailors are we are not to post any last names of any sailor. Also means any pictures we have of them, or anyone else, in uniform, we need to make sure the last name is not visible.
Welcome to the group!! Thanks for the holiday wishes - won't get to spend it with any of my kids but I learn to accept!! Hope you have a great holiday season also!!!

Anna: I had read the guidelines. a few months ago (I really thought I had read somewhere on here that you had to make sure that you did not use both a first name and last names of a recruit)..thanks for the tip...I have fixed it! I hope you have a good upcoming Thanksgiving!

If that is your son's last name, I need to tell you to remove your it. No last names should ever be posted on this site - OPSEC rules. First name's are ok just not last names.

Martyzmom: My son is in Pcola. He is AM. Starts A School in January. We are from Winston Salem. I will check my calendar. Is Horsepen Creek anywhere near New Garden...I know that area?
