Hi all: Just wanted to know that I so enjoy the commaraderie that is happening here. I miss this opportunity to be at the M&G's and to be close enough to be with you. Sure could use a cup of joe with another N4M :-}}

Karl (Dan's dad) was in the ER on Tuesday - cut his hand with a saw and broke two fingers. He will have to go to an orthopedic surgeon to have pins put in. Brandon (future son in-law) is home from his second visit to UCD in two weeks. He now has a medi bag with iv antibotics for the next six weeks to take care of the staff infection in his spine. He came home on Tuesday.

I had my physical, first one since the lay off (two and a half years). No more migraines, and my allergies have calmed way down since I haven't been in the old court house. Doc says that physically I'm doing better. Have to loose weight and exercise to keep the 'old lady' stuff at bay. Back to the weight loss. Glad that summer is around the corner - makes salads much more fun. Took Xray's of the right hand that has been painful for quite a while now. Just wanted you to know that you are all appreciated - have a great day and enjoy this sunshine.~S~

Hi Everyone: I receive dthis last night, and wanted to pass this on to you.

March 30, 2011 has been designated by the United States Congress as Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day.  I am so appreciative of this, as there are so many across our nation  who have given so much through their military service and they are so deserving of  the honor, respect, and recognition this designation brings.

 

As our country is facing forces throughout the Middle East and as the violence rages more out of control each day, we are continuously on our knees with intense concern and prayers for our loved ones serving today.  Our hearts are broken by our losses, our lives changed as our wounded return, our minds centered on all that our loved ones face on a daily basis.  To our prayers for each of them, I would like to ask us to call forth the memory of all who have served before them.

 

This is 'Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day', may we give honor and special words of thanks and welcome to each veteran that served in that war ~ may we remember each hero lost and wounded at that time ~ may we pray for those who still live the conflicts of that war each day of their lives.  And with that, may we too acknowledge our appreciation to each veteran of every war and conflict our nation has had.  Many are gone now, but we are able to live in the greatest nation on earth with all the benefits of liberty and freedom due to their bravery, commitment, and patriotism. 

 

This is a special day to remember, respect, and pray for ALL our veterans, past and present, as we think of our children who are serving today and honor our Vietnam Veterans who have returned home.

Velvet.....Yes, Fat City in still in Old Sac...There is a New Fat in Roseville that is wonderful!

 

Let us know when you come out way to shop.  We never need much of a reason to get together!!  There is always a couple of us around.

Thank you LZ27.   I am orginally from Visalia and Sacramento is where I loved to go shop, so I think I will fit in just fine.   Is Fat City still in old town Sacramento?

Welcome velvet!  Many of us live in the Sacramento but we are here for you and your questions.  If you are ever traveling to our valley we would like to meet you.  Don't hesitate to visit this site for info, support, and laughs!  We are just a bunch of crazy Navy ladies!!!

HI, I am from Northern California, but north of Eureka in McKinleyville.  I thought yoru group might be the closest.  My son is in boot camp right now slated to PIR on May 6th.    Mary
