What if they are going to NY / I thought wow 9 month grad hold yea past the NY winter safe to bring "junk 4x4 " home, not that I want it....but I get it.

Aggie most of them are out of their rooms before the actual grad ceremony.

Question time -- After the power school graduation,  if the sailor's staying in GC, do they stay in the same room or do they move out of the dorm right after graduation?  And if they're going to New York,do they have to be out of their rooms immediately?  My son's graduating in October and I've rented a cottage on Isle of Palms for a few days and was wondering if he'd be available right away to spend some time with us or if he'll be busy packing up his room.

I saw Sarah's status that she was heading that way. I asked her when, and I think it's right when I'm leaving. I'll ask her gain to be sure though. :)

I'll be down there from the evening of the 14th until the 19th ish. :)
Yeah... The whole trip was pretty crazy for PS grad. He was running around with his head cut off to get everything moved before Friday!

I'm looking into places as well..checking the villas for our Oct stay for PS graduation, but for July 4th, looking at a decent place, close, not terribly expensive...we'll have a car as we'll be driving...will probably go to beach--i don't think it's too far, right?  I hear GC is not the best place to stay--but to go into North Charleston??  I've told Michael to check out some places if he wants us to come...

He's very homesick too...Memorial day hit him hard...I think because this is his first year in like 15 years NOT to go to the INDY 500 with his grandparents, plus EVERYONE had people there over the weekend (or all the guys he hangs out with at least had family/gf's in )..he seems better today, with school starting back and the studying...I told him yesterday, only a couple weeks and he gets to see his GF and a couple weeks later we'll be down (with the GF in tow as well) and I'll probably try to get down in August too...just to see him and help him look forward to something...then in Oct he graduates and gets to come home and he'll be getting married....told him it really won't be much longer...but when you are by yourself, I know it seems to take forever!

Hey Emily...when in June?? Sarah is heading "over there" (haha for us its over)....in a couple of weeks and would probably love to meet some of you...I plan on going over july 4th....so I'll miss you all...BOO!!  Oh well, maybe next time!

Thanks William, will check that out.  I thought I was getting points when we stayed at LaQuinta before, but was told because we were booked through Travelers Advantage we did not get points for that stay.   I just want a reasonable, clean, close place to stay.

Thanks Kris - he's only 21, but for the moment I think he's happy where he is (Bangor). 

Emily thanks for the invite!! And yes, that is a beautiful family picture.   If I can offer you one piece of advice for the planning is pick a date, a time and a place and let everyone know.  I know it sounds a little harsh, but you will never be able to satisfy everyone.   I can tell you that within an hour after PS grad we were mattress shopping then onto Wal-Mart for the essentials for his new apartment, and that will probably hold true for most folks. So Saturday would probably be your best bet.

MN Mom, I stayed at Goose Creek just a week ago at the Wingate by Wyndham on University Blvd. (N. Charleston) that is a easy 12 minute drive to the school.   I got a package deal hotel/car from Orbitz.  This is a really new hotel only a few years old and the place it spotless,  and it comes with a free breakfast buffet.

I'm in love with this picture! The gang is all here. :) Aaron is the only one missing (he was at his brother's party across town when we took pictures).
