Congrats Kathy! A positive phone call is the best thing you can receive during Boot Camp. Your baby will definitely act more like a man next time you see him.

Kathy, that's great that you got to talk to him. The Navy definitely makes men out of our boys. My son is finishing up A school in Pensacola and is set to graduate on the 30th. This will be the first thanksgiving without him but something we have to get used to. I am very proud of him and the PIR is awesome!

Hello to all Ok Navy moms,
My son left 10/27 for basic, and got the first phone call last night. He sounds so strong and confident, not at all like the tone of the first two letters home. He has a young man from Tuttle in his division that he left MEPS with, and I'm glad that he has someone from his home state to go thru this experience with. We are set for PIR 12/30, and can't wait to get there and see my baby boy.

landlockedmom, what is your son studying? My son is on a sub, the Olympia. I am sure my son would be happy to meet your son if/when he gets to Hawaii.

Rhonda8881...just wondering if he was still in Hawaii. Mine hopes to go over there and it would be great if he could hook up with someone from his home-town.

Hello Oklahoma Moms! We just got back from our son's PIR today. What an experience! We couldn't be more proud of him...and to see how proud he is of himself is even better. He stays in GL for Pre-Buds, but they don't get going until 12/2. Then off to SD in March or April for Buds. Rhonda8881...is your guy still in Hawaii? J

Hi everyone its been awhile since I stopped by here. I heard from my son a few days ago. He will be leaving Great Lakes next week to go to Virginia. Then in May he will be off to Guam he is so excited about that one.
