Sounds right I guess with the holdidays and all. Really glad she has started. I heard they shortend the class so maybe faster...I don't really know but her
instructor should be able to give an idea about how long...

Daughter started school today, keeping busy with notes and MOD 1. She's glad to be moving along. Thinking she might be done at the beginning of Feb? Is that about right? 9 weeks now, correct?

No dates. He moved over to the A school barracks last week of October. He said he would probably know when class starts the day before. Not much advance notice. He didn't do anything but pack up his sea bag and go to the other barracks. He is at the Decatur and he loves it there. p.s. I'm also a nurse.

Wow Julz, did they give another date then?
My son was supposed to have moved over to A school last night-still no phone call. Do they do anything in particular when they move over? Like have to iron their clothes again? lol

As far as going on hold goes, my son was told A school would start Nov 1st and he is still on hold. So yea, you can't go by what they tell you.

What do you graduate in?
So OS school has been shortened? WOW...I'm ever-so-slowly realizing that the Military is not much different from Corporate world...just when you think you know when your deadlines and job description...everything changes...

If no news is good news, I should be in euphoria :)

My son was told if they started 11/22 he would be out around March 2nd I believe.
I hope so because I graduate March 20th and would love to have him there.

My daughter PIR'd 8/28/09. She did the last Class of SCC and now is is the last long version of OS school. She's almost half way through. She was on hold for a while. Now there are no SCC classes and its now a shortened version of OS class just don't know if they'll be a hold or not....:) Once she starts it will be faster than before...:)

Lisa my son had his PIR 11/06 they were a push division. So far he is being told A school will start 11/22. But I've heard so many people tell me that those dates are subject to change so i have mentally prepared him to be there a year. Anything less will seem good then.

Your post made me realize I had to change my name lol. I'm using his nickname because I'm still unclear about using his real name. I see some don't even use a real name at all.
It was soooooo good to be able to speak to him on the phone tonight. What a difference having that little bit of communication makes. He is supposed to be moved over on Tuesday where he will be able to keep his cell phone with him and get a laptop. Then I can be mama again! lol
My son was the last group too. I got the phone call in Indiana. Thankfully they didn't make them wait until the late evening like other groups did.

We stayed at the Ramada (switched from the Quality) and took the 2nd shuttle there. The staff seemed clueless about everything. They told us the shuttle came every 15 min, but instead it came every 20. Although we got there on time we were up in the balcony not facing the sailors. My x had gotten there hours before and saved room for us. (I didn't think they allowed that) so we got to move to the front. So I would recommend 8 a.m. is NOT early enough if you want to choose your seat.
Good luck with your daughter's BS I can't wait to see your post that you have a sailor! (You know I think seeing the females in uniform made me more emotional-prob because I'm not used to seeing them. We don't live by a base or anything)
