For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My son just graduated and is in school studying while on Grad Hold at Charleston. He is a Nuke.... Apparently all but two people are being sent to NY. Im praying he isnt one of them but prayer may be the only thing holding him here now. He signed on for more time and to come back as an instructor. Ive lost track of what level he has made he ranked up several times and Ive truly lost track without hunting through a stack of papers and notes to find it. Hope it doesnt make me a bad Navy Mother. Anyone else at Goose Creek,Sc?

Comment by BonnieRN on November 25, 2012 at 12:21am: Hi all. My daughter made petty officer 3rd class too. So proud. She is on the USS Theodore Roosevelt and seems pretty happy. She met someone in
"A" School and sounds like it is serious ! I have turned her room into a spare room type thing but it's still all her old furniture...just not all her clutter ! I had her permission. I mean realistically we both know she won't be living there again. But she will be using it when she comes home on leave etc.

Comment by Cheryl on October 7, 2012 at 3:27pm: My daughter is on the USS George Washington stationed in Japan. They are deployed right now, but just got to Malaysia for a port call. She loves it and is enjoying life overseas. It's still hard for me, but got worse a few weeks ago when my other kid joined the Air force. He's in Texas for basic right now. Here we go again! Hope all your sailors are doing well, staying safe, have fair winds and following seas!

I am sorry I haven't checked in for awhile....My son is in Virginia Beach,anyone else? I wish I could say it has gotten easier missing my son, but it hasn't. I just ordered more sailor pics of him and was so bummed they had sold out on the DVD of the graduation...How is everyone else doing? I would love to hear! Have a great day!

Comment by BtownSandy on March 3, 2012 at 7:01pm: I changed my sailor's room into my son's mini-apartment. My extra bedroom is the room where I moved her bed into and use for guests. Her old room was the biggest one besides the master bedroom and when my son moved home from college we wanted to give him his own space so we used her room to house his futon/couch, coffee table, TV and tv stand, computer and desk. There is a bed in there as well, so we still have extra space. He actually sleeps in there instead of his "bedroom" which he uses as a closet right now.
