Hi. moms! Can't believe we are coming up on our first year. Hope everyone is well. My sailor is having a great time so far in San Diego. She works hard and plays hard. Miss her but proud of her! So, what is your story??

Well, leaving this group and try to find out where I now belong...daughter is THU and still trying to complete A school registration? Thanks for all the support, thanks for all the advice and I am so grateful for NAvy for Moms.  I could have used something like this when my son was in Army boot camp several years ago.

Thank you all so very much ladies, for being so supportive ove the last two months, I really could not have done it without you all! Extra thanks to ftlw and diannep, for all the advice and wisdom. Having your experience has helped more than you know!

PIR was the most wonderful experience, and getting to meet a few of you ladies was so nice! Finally getting to see my sailor was amazing:) we got to see some of the surrounding city and gurney mills. Unfortunately my sailors orders were changed that friday and he flew out Saturday afternoon to P-cola instead of Monday like was originally planned, but I took the train in from where I was staying and spent 6 hours at the airport with him before he had to leave:) at least now when they are gone they have cell phones lol.

But ladies once again thank you for everything, this has been an exciting journey, and I will miss you all as I now join the pensecola A-school group. Best wishes for you and your sailors!

ML, my daughter was the really blonde one! Hard to miss;)
I am signing off of this site to move on to the San Antonio site for A school.
My experience here has been spectacular and kept me sane! The meet and greet at the Ramada was awesome and so funy, some divisions dressed in a certain color to pick each other out, very cool. The Ramada was ok, but I heard great things about the Marriott which had a WalMart next to it in case you forgot something. Lining up early was good but maybe not necessary unless you really have your heart set on getting the last row with the wall for your back to lean on....it was a nice seat. Binoculars would have been nice, taking pics to make sure camera settings are right as soon as you arrive is priceless. Our daughter had watch so getting lunch and resting with family at the hotel was the best idea for us. Meeting her at the crack of dawn (4am) was a great idea, she got her laptop and phone from us and we spent 4 more hours with her. God Bless all the newbies, no news really is good news, don't expect more than 3 calls and send them letters and Facebook page and new articles, etc, it's gold to them. The questionnaires on here were very fun too! Thanks to everyone for your support!
