Our kids have now been in the Navy 1 year. It has been a quick year with a lot of ups and downs. It will be the the second Christmas that Berta will not be home for so I sent her a Christmas tree. Check out the link below, but you have to hurry, you can only send them through this Friday.

In less than 3 weeks it will be one year since I stood at MEPS and watched my daughter get sworn in to the Navy. I can't believe it, the time has gone by so fast. She will be in Japan for 2-1/2 more years. hopefully, I'll see her at least once or twice in that time span. Saving for a trip to japan to see her world. Hopefully next fall when they come in from their summer deployment.

Hey...How is everyone? Can you believe that ina few weeks our sialors will have been in for a year!!!!! Boy, that year has gone fast. We leave this Wednesday for DC to see Scott. I am so excited that I'm not going to be able to contain myself on Wednesday. We have a late flight (7:30 pm) out of Milwaukee and won't get there until 10:20pm. He took off on Thursday and Friday so we can get the most of out time with him. We'll be staying at the Navy Lodge in Annapolis and will go into DC on Friday to do the sightseeing thing. We have a tour of the White House on Friday ..... can't wait to do that!

Hope all is well with everyone and your sailors are doing well too. Post what they're up to and what you'e up to as well....kinda miss "talking" to all of you. You were my lifeline during Boot Camp! xoxo to you all!

Joseph was home for his birthday on the 5th. He then left to report to Oceana NAS in Virginia Beach for C-school. He is doing well and excited about what he is doing. Hope everyone's sailors are doing well. Always keep all of you in my thoughts

She is finally heading back to her homeport so we can skype again. YAY. Email is great but it just isn't the same as a skype call. calls from the ship are very hit and miss. sometimes you get a great connection other times, not so great. lol
May God watch over all our sailors as they perform their duties all over the world.

>>>still floating around in the ocean on her carrier - Michele, I just giggle every time i read that :-)
Debra- enjoy your time with Joseph. I hope some of your worries have settled down now.
And excuse me Stephanie! I think by now we should have at least ONE picture of Tim and his new bride :-)
Big news about Sarah is she made plane captain! Which means instead of following other folks around learning what to do while she is in training and doing a bunch of grunt work on the side, she is now one of those persons on the flight deck that actually gets to launch and recover planes! Sarah! On the
flight deck of an aircraft carrier waving her arms around and using hand
signals to communicate with the pilots as they land and take off.
Just like you see on TV! I cant get over that! LOL
Brian has Finally finished A School and is set to leave GL within the next couple months. He has a few loose ends to tie up and is tentatively scheduled for Norfolk, VA. He was hoping for Japan. His dad came out to see him a couple weeks ago and they traveled to the Chgo area where the rest of my family is and we all had a great weekend with a surprise call from Sarah while we were all there.
Hope this finds you all happy and healthy and enjoying the summer months. I love that we stay in touch with these updates even if they are scattered. Big N4M hugs to all of you :-D
