Hello everyone, I wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving! My family is excited because Hans has Christmas leave and will be flying home from Japan. He'll be home in time for Heidi's (his sister) 19th birthday. He missed her 18th birthday last year because of boot camp.

Hello everyone! I haven't been on this site for ages and was just thinking I would see what is going on. Gee it seems impossible it has been a year already since the boot camp days. So thankful for this site and seeing us through the tough times. Scott graduates from Surg Tech School tomorrow and then starts Urology Tech School on the 23rd. He is staying in Portsmouth for another 6 months. I will get him for Christmas this year! Yeah!!!!! Hope everyone else has there kids home for Christmas also. Everyone have a great holiday season and we'll have to post more updates on our 1 year anniversary on Jan. 2nd. Take care and God Bless all our Sailors and their families.

To All,
Well I hope this past year has been good to everyone and the future will be also. Update on Jason, he and Erica married in Septemeber, and doing fine. Jason got pneumonia in October and is set back one class in nuke power school which was about 6 weeks or so. He is doing fine now and back on cleaning duties till he joins the next class. He may catch his original class waiting on prototype this spring. I have follwed all of you and it makes us proud to see how our sailors have come in just a year. All have happy holidays and good luck.

Yes, I too was thinking it has been almost a year since they all left for BC. So much has happened. Hans will be coming home for Christmas too from Japan!! Anne, I'm glad you can have Jeremy home for Christmas. It sure was hard last year for all of us not having them for Thanksgiving or Christmas.

Anne R-Glad Jeremy is excited and that you will be seeing him for Christmas. Too bad Chris didn't see him in VA. Chris actually just ran into another one of his BC buddies there, Dan, and found out they are being deployed together in January. You are right, it is hard to believe it has been a year already since they left for BC. It seems like yesterday. We are hoping to be able to have Chris home for the holidays but still not sure.

How is everyone else doing? Would love to get an update on everyone since it is coming up to our 1 year anniversary!!!

Greetings everyone! I haven't been on this group for a long time. I hope all is well with your sailors. Jeremy just left this morning from Norfolk he's on finally headed out to sea. It's only a short trip in prepration for the big "D" coming up(that one will be for 6 months). He called me from the fligt deck of the carrier, he sounded excited. His sqaudron is attached to the USS Dwight D Eisenhower. He lives on base so he's not use to being out on the ship. It's almost a year since we were all getting upset about them leaving for Bootcamp. It has gone by fast. I don't see him as much as I wish I could. He's coming home for Christmas for two weeks yeah. Enjoy the holidays to all who have their sailors home this year(last year was hard without them) and to all who don't I pray you will see them soon.

Mary- Glad to hear that Dan is doing well. Glad you will be able to see him Thanksgiving and hopefully Christmas. You are right, it is hard to believe it has been almost a year!!!

Chris is a Reservist MAA and was recently activated. He is now in Portsmouth VA and will be there for a couple of months for additional training before being deployed to Iraq in January. I must admit I am not happy about him going to Iraq but we all knew this could happen when he signed up for the Navy. The good news is while he is in Portsmouth he has had a chance to see two of his BC buddies that are in the area. He got a chance to see PROUD NAVY MOMS SUE son Scott and
FAULKNER. So far he likes the Unit he is assigned to and is hoping he will be able to come home for Thanksgiving. I know having him leave in January is going to be very hard, but I will deal with that when the time comes. For now he is happy and safe.

Hope everyone else's Sailors are doing well. Look forward to hearing about their adventures.

Hans is taking his advancement test for E-4 on September 17. That would be like tomorrow in the evening for us, as he is in Japan. We spoke with him this morning and he said he just got back from Yokosuka Japan from firefighting training. He is doing well. He is planning on coming home sometime in December.

10 months. It feels like forever but its only been 10 months. I do like seeing the updates on what all our sailors are doing.

Lauren is still in Pensacola. She finished Aircrew training in May (loved it). Is just about done with ATT and is awaiting ATO training next. She should be done with ATO in Pensacola by mid to end of November. Then she'll finally find out where her duty station is gonna be. Whidby Island, Jacksonville or (please no) Tinker AFB, Kansas. Once she gets to her base she'll have 6-9 months of flying everyday to get her quals completed so she can get her wings.

I cant say she's happy, but she's not unhappy either. I would say bored is more like it. She's really waiting to get to her duty station to see what thats all about. The Navy is just not as exciting as she'd thought it would be (so far).

I'm glad everyone is doing well. Please everyone who hasnt....tell us what your sailor is up to!!!
