New BATTLE STATIONS 21

The final event in Boot Camp before PIR (Pass In Review = GRADUATION!) is BATTLE STATIONS, the capstone event, the FINAL EXAM for Recruits before they are presented with their NAVY ballcap!

Your new Sailor will not be able to tell other Recruits anything about Battle Stations -- they will be told very clearly what they can and cannot disclose. However, he or she WILL be able to tell you some great stories about their experiences that do not violate this rule! (Most of these stories include the phrase “And then Chief shook his head and said …”)

Wondering about the new Battle Stations? Here is some publicly available information:

When our son called from Division 50 on Saturday he said his was on Sunday. I assume that is this coming Sunday, as yesterday seemed too soon.

Koda called mom tonight and said he thought their Battlestation start the night of the 29th at midnight and went for 36 hours. He is in Div 807.

Dawn: Did you hear from Koda yesterday, Xmas, and did he say anymore about Battlestations? 36hrs seems abnormally long compared to the others - 12hrs. I did not get a call from Jim yesterday but his girlfriend did and he seemed not to know when, just some time next week. Boy they don't give them info very readily. Thanks

Bonnie, They'll start the night of the 29th....late and once they start Battle Stations its approx 12 hours long. The 36 hour thing is because they are up all day the day before. So they'll get up the morning of the 29th as usual...do their thing all day...they may get a nap around 8, 9 or 10pm, then they go to Battle Stations. Once Battle Stations is over they dont go to sleep....they are usually treated to a huge breakfast and have their usual day to go thru. They'll get to go to bed earlier that night then usual though and sleep like the dead I'm sure. Hope this helps. All of this info is from recruits I know that have been thru Battle Stations (recently). The storyline is pretty much the same for all of them.

Bonnie, I thougth it sounded unusually long too. i don't think their RDC's give them alot of info just a time frame. or could be that he got confused lol. Koda seems to be more confused than I have ever known him to be since he got there lol.

Or it could have been something he read before he even left home...??

Sorry for the confusion ;)

Thanks for this info. I understand it better. Does anyone know what happens if a recruit is too sick to participate? And has anyone heard if 807 still has one more PST to take? This waiting is killing me and it sounds like they didn't get to participate in the Cup. He would have enjoyed it.
