Gee Congrats to all our Sailors and all their success. I am in Virginia right now visiting Scott. Went to the Portsmouth base and checked out the hospital where he is in school. He was asked today to take part in a retirement ceremony and was thrilled. He said it is possible he will stay in Virginia another 4 months after Surgical tech C-School for another schooling. He will be done with C-School the middle of November. I am just thankful I know he will still be in the states a little longer and getting more training. Everyone take care and I love reading the posts finding out how everyone is doing.

Hello, Hans called us at 8:00 am Sunday morning . He knew that was a good time to call before we left for church. When the phone rang I said "I bet it's Hans!". Burt answered the phone and spoke first. Hans said, Guess where I am "? Burt answered," Down Under." Hans was surprised that we already knew. The reason we knew was because an email came from the captain through the ombudsman informing us that the port location had changed. The other port wasn't large enough for the ship. They are in a beautiful location near the Great Barrier Reef. They will be having a great Fouth of July celebration in the area. Congrads to Jason and the other sailors. Everybody has come a long ways since January 2. I have a question. Do you think homemade cookies do well in a care package? I need to get one together for Hans. Thanks for your encouragement.

Hello to all the Navy families, we have been in the shadows just watching and enjoying everyones discussions and I see alot have finished schools and onto their ships or boats. Kim, Australia was very nice and friendly when I went there in 97, I am sure you will get a phone call but who knows when. I woke my wife up alot from overseas calls home but it was sure worth it.
Tomorrow is the big day for the Jason and a few others from the bootcamp class as they have their ET A school comp exam, graduate on Thursday and leave after that. Jason will be advanced to ET3 and August will be Nuclear Power School for 6 months. He has not been home at all, but we have seen him 2 times in Charleston. He has stated he wants some of moms cooking for once. Erica and Jason have mariage on the horizion next spring.
All of you continue to support you sailors as they need it more than you realize and a care package is a good thing now so send away.
Take care -- Don

Saw a movie on Hell Week. I know they are in for a tough week and that is putting it mildly. Everyone of them should be proud to have made it this far and I am hoping all of them get through it well! We are all proud of them!!!!!

Can you believe we have had 6 months since PIR? I know those 2 months of boot camp ssemed like 2 years! The early days of being a boot camp mom are forever burned into the memory. But am so proud of all our sailors and how far ( both literally and figuratively) they all have come!
