FLTW my son also used his Navy Fed Credit Union debit card.  He already had them and had paid for them before we arrived.

FTLW - my son actually used his debit card to pay for his pictures when we picked them up from the base. If he already paid for the pics, I would send the check in his name.

QUESTION - For anyone who has sent their Recruit a check to pay for Photos....how exactly did you do it? Payable to them, so they could deposit it?

or

Blank with your signiture so they could make it out to the Photo Lab? If you did this...do you know if the Photo Lab accepted it? We are getting some conflicting info about payment such as:

They now CAN take the money out of the recruits paycheck (used to be able to do this but then it changed to a debit/visa card, check or cash {though they shouldn't have this much cash on hand at BC} ).

That the Photo Lab will not accept a check from anyone but the Recruit.

Thank you!

Just posted a bunch of pictures on facebook.  Feel free to tag and save all you want.  And share with anyone with graduates in the next two training groups.  Hope everyone had an awesome time with their Sailors!!!

1ProudMom- praying for you daughter.  Hope she heals fast and passed her PFT!

1ProudMom your daughter will be in my prayers.  I am glad they know the issue now so she doesn't do further injury to herself.  Please keep us updated on how she is doing!

Comment by diannep on May 8, 2012 at 7:37am

1ProudMom:  So so sorry, but glad that they finally diagnosed her and she can rest her poor foot!  Stress fractures are very common in bootcamp and with some rest, she should recover and pass!  Prayers for the 4-6 weeks she has in RCU.  Write more often than ever...and get others to write to her, send funny stories, jokes, etc...to keep her spirits up.  Remind her that this ia a "bump in the road" and she will get there.  Prayers!

1Proudmom - I am so sorry that she ended up having an injury! I know you were saying that her foot hurt. While I know it isn't great that she has the stress fractures...yes, at least she now knows why! They are great in the RCU unit...I see that you joined the group...some great moms over there...ask, ask, ask questions that may pop into your head...they will help you!

I will keep your Daughter in continued prayers. Would love to hear how she is doing from time to time. Please come back and let your group know...also when you get that "I'm a Sailor" call!

I hope everyone enjoyed time with their Sailors!  So happy for everyone!

I received a call tonight that my daughter has been moved into the RCU.  She has multiple fractures in her foot and will be on medical hold for 4-6 weeks before she'll be able to continue training to pass her run.  No wonder she couldn't pass.  She had mentioned last week that it was hurting quite a bit.  I'd appreciate your continued prayers.  THANKS!

For those of you on this group waiting for PIR, I started a discussion called "My experience at PIR".  Please read for some tips I learned last week :)
