~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Yes, this is such an exciting time in their lives! Following them on this journey is so wonderful and at times very awe-inspiring! I will check with my daughter in law about the housing question. She is home with us right now while my oldest gets ready for their deployment.

I'll let you know as soon as I know something about who to get in contact with on the housing!

Don't know yet Dawn about what ship.  All I know is he will be a diesel mechanic for which he is super stoked!  He has received verbal orders but not on paper.  As soon as we get more details, I will let you know.  He and his wife are starting the search for housing.  Any tips?  So excited for this leg of their journey!

twodaloo! That's awesome!  What ship is your son stationed on? My sons are on the Boxer. I am so glad that you will be able to visit both your son and daughter during visits to California. Same with me!

Cole is an ABF - Aviation Boatswain Mate Fueler. He'll be fueling the aircraft up on the flight deck. His brother, Cody, is an ABH - Aviation Boatswain Mate Handler, he's responsible for directing the aircraft on and off the flight deck. Both are responsible for rescue and recovery if, God forbid, there were to be an accident up on the flight deck.

Congrats to you and your Sailor, Twodaloo!!

My son got orders to San Diego too!  That is exciting that he gets to be with his brother.  My daughter lives in Palm Springs area so we are excited about being able to see them both when we visit.  Is your son an Engine Man?

Thanks, PuertoricoNFV!!! I love hearing about our sailors!!!  So glad he's making friends! Mine is done with A-school and heading home any day now before hitting his first duty station. He got San Diego and is going to be on the same ship as his older brother! So exciting!!

It's been a while since I posted on here, Update on our sailor, hes doing great in his new duty station, the good thing is that he is only about 4hrs away from us. So far we have been able to spend two weekends with him and was able to stay with him on the base.. Since he has no vehicle he has connected with other sailors and made some new friends. He stays on the ship since he is single and is not married. Right now he is out at sea on the ship somewhere in the ocean ans should be back home soon. Good to see some familar faces on here. Take Care.

Hi Twodaloo! No, he's in Pensacola, FL for a-school. I understand about the missing him! I wish so much I could go see Cole for A-school but it just isn't going to happen. How's he liking his A-school?  Cole seems to like one moment and then the next, he's ready to go on to his first duty station, of course stopping by home prior to reaching his first duty station! LOL

Hey guys!  How is everything.  Son still in A school in Chicago.  Miss him big time.  His wife is going to see him for the fourth.  Coder's Mom is he in GL?

Hi NavyWife09! Congrats to your Hubby on classing up!  Now the real stuff can begin for him. My son classed up just last week so he's pumped to get his schooling finally going. I'm so glad you are able to be there with your husband during his schooling. That will be great.

I checked out your pics on ESTY and they are really pretty! You do great work!

Thanks so much for the update! It's so great to hear how things are going since PIR!

Take care and enjoy Pensacola!
