OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Hi all,

Just thought I would check in a see what everyone is up too.. My sailor is doing good, is at his first duty station for at least 2 years.. bought a car.. and is happy.. I on the other hand decided to make some life changes..(think its my mid life crisis) I have left my job of 12 years and decided to go back to school!! I am in a CNA class now, will graduate in May and then I am going to take the CMA and Home health Aide classes.. My goal is to work for Hospice.. I have thrown myself into certain organizations that support our military, met and had lunch with two other navy moms last sunday, and have really been happy with my new life..

So.. even though I think it is my midlife crisis,LOL I am having alot of fun and feel so content.. And here I was dreading the empty nest syndrome!! LOL

Thanks Cynthia for the alert! I saw this posted by Lala Ribbons on FB.
Today we were at our sailor's homecoming. The USS Cowpens returned to San Diego today with all of the military regalia. It was stirring to see and wonderful to hug our son. We had lunch together but he's crashed now. Amazingly more tired than after boot camp :) we'll get a chance to visit again tomorrow and hopefully tour his ship before we return home.

Military friends, I just wanted to caution you not to accept friend requests from other "navy wives" you don't personally know or don't have mutual friends with (even then be cautious). In the last two days, both a local fb navy wives group and a Hawaii military community group I'm on have had individuals with fake profiles request adds to the group and then add other navy spouses as friends. The profiles are clearly fake (stolen pictures from other wives blogs, etc), and the profiles only created a day or two prior. When questioned about their authenticity, the profiles suddenly get deleted. The incidents will be reported to NICS but I wanted to remind EVERYONE to be cautious. Practice OPSEC and PERSEC and DON'T hint at anything. Al Qaeda called for its members to glean info about military member and their FAMILIES via social networking a year or so ago so please be overly cautious. Loose lips DO sink ships.....remember the USS Cole?!?! Feel free to repost

Gosh haven't been on here in a while but I have been reading the posts through my email. My sailor is still in GL getting ready to start C school next month. She gets to come home late August then reports for duty in September. She will miss her brother's high school graduation but hopes to attend his marine boot camp graduation before going to her station. I am very proud of her and her accomplishments. She graduated A school 2nd in her class. She has made lots of friends who has now become her new family and I am very glad she has them. I miss her but we do talk/text/video chat at least 4 or 5 times a week so its not as bad as boot camp. My son leaves for San Diego 2 days after graduating high school. My separation anxiety is starting to kick in. I burst into tears the other day at work. This one is gonna be harder on me cause he's the baby and mama's boy. I have already joined the marine parents site, but I already know I have a wonderful support group with my fellow momsters. Take care everyone and I will check in again soon.

Looks like this group quieted down a lot in the last six months while our sailors/airmen are flung about the country and world.

I'm the mom of a future ATI who is still in Pensacola since the day after PIR (with a great Christmas trip home to San Francisco). We went to visit her in Pensacola 2 weekends ago for her 20th birthday and had a GREAT time spending 2 whole days with her seeing the sights and having fresh gulf seafood and enjoying the beautiful sunny (but cold) weather and white sand beaches of Florida.

She's still in Pensacola A school until May, but we're sitting on pins and needles until mid-April when she finds out where C school will be and where she will be working as an ATI after that. We're hoping for somewhere close to California. She's doing so great in A school (#1 in her class) so we're hoping that helps in getting to pick where she's posted.

Good luck to everyone's graduates and hope everyone's Navy careers (short or long term) are flourishing.

Just checking in on the gang. Thank you all again for being there during BC. Don't know if I would have made it without you all!

Hey everyone! I still enjoy all the comments and still laugh at all our antics
(daubersmom) with our Sailors! I talk to mine almost everyday. He's stationed right now in Virginia Beach. He was home for the holidays and it was more than wonderful. I pray everyone has a blessed day, and I'll check in again in a few days,

Hi Everyone,

Our sailor made it to Japan on the USS Antietam. He's safe and sort of sound (lol). Got a call yesterday morning. What a wonderful alarm clock that was! Hope to hear from him again real soooooooon!

Hi all, Hope all is well. Well my cover is blown now.. LOL I had asked if anyone was going to the HM Graduation today and if they were to please take pictures of my Sailor for me since I couldnt go. I got a text from my Sailor today, here is what he said: " daubersmom? Really??? and how many people did you ask to take my picture?"then I expalined that for security reasons we couldnt use their name on this site so his reply was " Daubersmom????" then I get a text that says " I couldnt believe it when someone asked me if you were Daubersmom and I told him no!!!" LMAO Just had to share that and I hope you all got as big of a chuckle as I did... Never underestimate the power of a Taznavian Mom...
