WELCOME TO PIR 09/21/2012

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I am going to virginia Beach soon and would love to hear from anyone who lives in that area. I am hoping to be able to meet several moms/wives etc from that area and either have a small party or at least all go out to dinner together. If you live in the VA Beach/Norfolk area or close enough to drive and want to join us please send me a friend request or message. I love meeting other Navy Families :-)

sparkyjo- unknown.  I may leave mine till at least after the new year.  Just in case anyone wants to find me (not likely).  I still pop into the boot camp group when I get bored.

Now that my SR has graduated and is now a sailor, what should my user name include?  Do I drop the (Ship 04 Div 303) from my name?  What do I use in place of that?

Also, should we leave the depper and bootcamp groups?

Ladies had so much fun here in Great Lakes, it was fun to meet a few of you. Had a great 2 days with my Sailor. Excited for him to start his new life as a Navy Sailor and see the world, best of luck to you all! Hugs and kisses and hope we meet again someday soon.

All my best!

Had the most Amazing experience in my life today. I watched my Son graduate from US NAVY Basic Training. I am so very proud of him. I love my son!!

Never heard of that either.  Maybe what they mean is that the top row fills first because people like that no one is behind them...they can lean on the wall.  But I have heard some say that their view was a bit obstructed there, so be sure to get there early and check it out.  We sat in the middle of our section, halfway up, and we had great visibility.

I have never heard of that before, and nobody from the last PIR (9/14) has said anything about it. If it were something they were now doing at PIR, I am sure someone from that group would have said something.
