First at all, thanks for the opportunity to be part of this group. It really makes me feel connected some how to my son even I have not received the so wanted phone call, (Not the 1st - 30 seconds phone call), but the one from where I will be able to hear from him and to know how is he doing. Thru this site I've learned from the first time where to look for his cell phone after I have received the “box” two weeks ago.

If you have a daughter/son in this division I would love to hear from you.  I read somewhere that after 2 1/2 weeks I should be receiving a phone call from my son and I am anxiously waiting from that phone call. If any one has received a phone call already from a son/daughter from this division would you mind sharing it?

Hi Yamel! It's so good to finally have our ship and division here!!!! Thanks. I think there are 5 of us now in this division and ship. My son's recruiter called to tell me the PIR date (which I knew from N4M) and I asked him when we'd be receiving a letter. He said that Sunday they should have been able to write and HOPEFULLY!!!! we will receive a letter this week! Thanks again for starting this discussion group.
Hi Winniesam,
It is good to hear from you... I am kind of of puzzled to hear that you got the PIR from the recruiter....You didn't receive the "generic" letter where they send us their address and their PIR? I hope the letter you were told they had the chance to write on Sunday is a lot more than the first one. I have not nails any more.... I check my mail box every day and I am afraid he is going to call me and I am going to miss his call.....
If anyone from Ship 12 Div 342 have received any other news, please let us know.
I did get the form letter but I guess he just wanted to be sure I knew when the PIR was. Who knows! (LOL)
Hi, Yamel. I am Molly's mom same ship and division. Haven't heard a word yet and am so frustrated. I thought it would be 2 weeks but it is now 3 weeks and nothing. She is 22 and already tried college first, so she has been gone before but this is different since there is no communication. I miss her so much!! Sorry I have no good news.
Hi Marsy....I understand what you say. My son Christian, who just tuned 21 last Saturday went also to college first, but I could drive or just pick up the phone and if that didn't work I would call his friends and even school... :-)No, I am not overprotective, at least I don't think I am, but I just need to know my kids are doing ok.... I have a node in my stomach no knowing anything… I think I read somewhere that if they were doing ok they will be granted a phone call a week and half later which is making things worst for me. and….. the postal service that takes forever :-(….Well at least for now 3 of us have not received any news from this ship/div yet…. And I do want to think that no news is good news…Let’s hang in there.
Could some one tell me how many sailors in each ship/div….. I am looking for other mothers, fathers, wives, husbands, girlfriends of sailors in Ship12 Div 342 PIR 10/15/10… So far only 3 of us have connected through our group SHIP12 DIV 342 ANY ONE?
Whoo Hooo! I did receive two letters today! My son said that he met a ton of cool people, which is our division. They chose him to carry the division flag. I guess that's a good thing. He said the food is good and that they can only write letters when they are designated. He passed his swimming test too! I'm so happy I have all of you to share with. They are all together so at least we know they are doing well!
Dear Lord, I thank You for this day, I thank You because I was able to hear my son's voice today.
Please keep him and all the sailors safe. Help them to start each day with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude.
Let them make the best of each and every day to clear their minds so that they can hear from You.
Let them not whine and whimper about things they have no control over and give them the best response when they're pushed beyond their limits. We know that when they can't pray, you listen to their hearts. Keep them strong that they may help the weak... Keep them uplifted that they may have words of encouragement for others.
I pray for those that are lost and can't find their way. For those that are misjudged and misunderstood. For those who don't know You intimately. I pray for those that don't believe. I pray for peace, love and joy, because there is no problem, circumstance, or situation greater than You. Because every battle is in Your hands, oh God to fight.
I thought I would be showered by letters by now, but I am now falling back into the "wondering was going on state".
Does have any one with sailors in S12-D342 received any more news?
im pretty sure they can only write on sundays.. so every thur or fri u should get a letter
Thanks for the encouragement Missy... I will try to be patient and not to check the mail box tomorrow. If I can stay away :-)
yeah i still check everyday, hoping maybe. lol
