It's funny, I had my laptop with me for the weekend, but only got to get on long enough to download pictures from the camers each evening. (hubby gets jealous of the 'puter).
Wednesday was wonderful. when Nolan found me he gave me such a squeeze and was so happy to see us. We just went to the mall and Gojo's for dinner/lunch. He had to be back early because he had watch.
Thanksgiving he brought home an extra. Justice is from Washington and was such a good kid & he and Nolan enjoyed Starbucks! and playing on my computer (for 3+ hours) then dinner at the Cracker Barrel. Afterward we went back to the hotel and they played in the pool and talked endlessly on cell phones. Each took a long shower and played on the 'puter some more.
Friday was the day we headed for the city. Nolan & Justice brought 2 more buddies, Dave whose family left Thursday and Chris (Jacksonville FL) whose family wasn't able to make it. We rode the train in and walked to the Union Station & Willis (sears) tower. Then we went on a search for "real" Chicago pizza & hot dogs. We walked all the way to the Aquarium and Feild Museum, which was a nice walk, beautiful day and we got to actually 'see' Chicago. When we finished we caught a bus uptown and went to the Christkindlemarket where the boys all found good German food. We caught the train back in plenty of time.
Saturday Nolan & Justice wanted to see the Lake, so we found a beach and goofed off for a bit, then went back to the mall. We took the to the USO before we headed to the Airport.
What a great weekend!
I am TIRED!

I can't believe that just this time last week we were all excited about going to GL to see our Sailors and now it is just a memory....but a very good one! I hated to leave yesterday. I cried as I watched Caleb walk away from the car as we left. I actually did a lot of crying this past week. LOL....and this is from a person who tries not to show much emotion any more since I try to be the tough one. I know that I cried for at least 45 minutes solid yesterday after we left. My ex husband was getting worried about me. (which that in itself is funny)! Overall, we had a great trip. I arrived back in Alabama at 1:30 this morning. I am so very tired but it is a good kind of tired.

It was so good to meet the ones that I met. Tami, Cori, Wendy, and Heidi it was a great pleasure in meeting you! I know that I met a few others but I don't remember exactly who else I met. Let's all keep in touch throughout this process. Caleb will be leaving for Norfolk, Virginia on Wednesday and I am sure that the rest of your sailors will be leaving soon too.

It is my prayer that God will protect each and every one of you and your Sailors!

It was great meeting you, Julie also. Imagine running into you at Cracker Barrel! Awesome! And, thanks to Mychal I knew why my son wasn't in the division when they marched out on Friday! I would not have known what to do!
Wendy ~ thank you so much! I'm having a very hard time coming down from this high we have been on all weekend. What a roller coaster ride these last 8 weeks have been. Now, I can't wait for Christmas....crossing fingers he gets leave or HARP duty! woo hooo

Hello to all! My head is still spinning from the wonderful week we've just finished. I'm amazed at how much my son seems to have grown over the last 8 weeks. I knew I raised him the best I knew how, but didn't realize how much the Navy would "fine~tune" him! I'm extremely impressed. Couldn't be more proud to be his mom!
And, being able to meet you moms was a highlight! What a great group of women we are!!! Will be posting pictures soon on FB....hope to see a bunch of everyone else's also!
Andi-Justin's wife ~ I didn't video tape, but got some pictures of the flag team and some of the band. Not many, though, because they were quite a ways away from us. I will post them on Facebook. If you have a FB account add me (Cori Mallard McKeown) and I should have them up in the next few days. Hope your husband is in one of those pictures. Even if he isn't ~ I can honestly say that all the 900 division did an incredible job! You can be proud he was a part of that! What part of the ceremony was your husband in?

Wow! What a great week! It was such a thrill to see my son graduate and spend some quality time with him. Our time was made even more special meeting some of the graduates and we were fortunate to get to spend Thanksgiving with Willie from Avondale, LA and Saturday with Jeremy from Virginia Beach. If these are your boys, Moms you've done well. They were a pleasure! We fly out tomorrow and I find I'm already looking forward to Christmas leave. It's just around the corner. :)

Hugs to you all!

We've been having a great time with Seamus! The stories are great, aren't they! Did anyone find out why the cops where at the gate last night?

Heidi, Bo was saying there is two types of on-based housing. Is that right? I know you're going to be living there soon:)
