N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

@SplashMom~ you could just type the ship name into ebay to find the coin.  I think someone said it will be a while longer for the books. Great Lakes is very cold!  Hope your Sailor is staying warm!!

Hi everyone! I'm thinking of ordering another challenge coin, but can't remember that one link! Does anyone else know it? I haven't received the book yet either...Hope everyone is doing good! My Sailor is still in the Great Lakes...brrrrr

I went back and forth about ordering the DVD. I didn't, but feeling like I should if I still can. Thanks for posting and letting me know ill call them today.

I just called GL's NEX photo lab to find out if my Sailor had ordered the DVD.  He felt certain he had, but when I looked at his receipt it did not have the DVD marked. Figured it wouldn't hurt to call.  Glad I did, as he did NOT order the DVD.  They still have it in stock so I ordered one; should have it in 2-3 weeks.  The gal at the photo lab was very friendly and helpful.

I also asked about the Keel - she said she knows the printing company is apparently behind in production, so it will probably be a couple more weeks at least from the way it sounds.  But because my Sailor ordered photo package A, the Keel is automatically included in that so I know at some point it IS going to arrive :-)

Hello ladies. I did receive the DVD of PIR, but still no keel book. Anyone receive theirs yet?

Hi BoomMom!  Hope you all had a great Christmas break!  We did, although I finished it out with a nice case of pneumonia!  :-(

Nice to see you online barefoot1 !  No DVD here either, but doubt they could have gotten through our blizzard anyway.  3 days off work/school since Friday :)  Up to 40o by Saturday.  Bikini weather...

Comment by barefoot1 on January 8, 2014 at 10:46am

Good morning ladies!  From what I have read on other forums within this site, it seems the average time was around 5-6 weeks after PIR that either the DVD or the Keel arrives.  I'm thinking it should be within the next week or so, given all the holidays since then.  Am anxious to get them myself!  :-)
