Hi mickeyd - wow - your son is in Japan!  That just seems like it happened so quickly.....I hope that at some point in time you are able to visit him there...... I've actually looked at the Japan Moms group before and they sure seem like a fun group - and very supportive of each other!  Hopefully your son will enjoy his time there too.  Thanks for updating us and know that we are all here for you!  Hugs to you and to your son!

Hi everyone. I like to come back to the PIR site especially on Thursdays and to to the group that is graduating. It just takes me back to the weekend we were all there and the anticipation and excitement of seeing our sailors for the first time in many weeks. My son is in Japan. He has been there since Feb 11 and just got back from a month long underway on the McCain. New experience for him. He just turned 25 on the 27. Only the second birthday of his life that we were not together. The other was when he turned 20 in Amman Jordan. He will be in Japan for two years. He is adjusting but still missing home for sure. I am a little jealous of the moms that will get to visit their sailors who are stateside. Hug them tight. Still so thankful for Navy For Moms. A great group of them on Japan Moms. Take care everyone.

Isn't it funny how quickly bootcamp has become a crazy memory!!! I'm so happy that all of your sailors are doing so good, with bigger and better things yet to come!!! My sailor is a Seabee and is in Gulfport MS, he loves just about everything about it, especially the weather!!! (we had 2 feet of snow last weekend) He's a little homesick still but we are planning to visit next month and I can't wait....I'm so jealous of all of you who have Navy friends to get together with, there really aren't many here, as a matter of fact my son is the first sailor to come out of his high school in many, many years!!! Best wishes to you all...Thanks for keeping in touch!!!

My son will be an FC. He currently in ATT school at Great Lakes and after ATT, will be staying in Great Lakes for his A school. He won't leave Great Lakes until he is assigned a 'C' school.

Hi all! Wow, it is amazing how time flies. My son stayed at GL after PIR for AT&T school. It was a cold, bitter winter but he completed his courses and deployed to SD for A school.

I am so proud of of him. He is brave and fearless and looks forward to deployment on a minesweeper one day. I don't get much information out of my Sailor either. He too wants to know more about what is happening at home and with our family.

I was fortunate to have dinner with a group of Navy moms recently. Each of them had a son and one daughter who were in listed. One mom's son was in OCS. Each mom's Sailor had various years of service, they were deployed to different Navy bases or attached to ships. It was amazing and nice to hear their experiences.

I hope each of you will have a similar opportunity to meet other Navy families who sympathize with our fears and eagerness to learn what is happening with our Sailors.

Hey bama mom - sorry I can't help with your sons job - mine is in Goose Creek, SC in nuke school.....are you not able to find a group for PACT airman?  I know the nukes have a few different groups and I am lucky to be able to get lots of info on what is happening with my son. 

It is hard to believe how quickly time has gone by! We will be traveling to SC in April to see our son and I can hardly wait.......

I hope you are able to get the info you are looking for....

Hello everyone from PIR 12.21.12. I hope you all are doing well. I have not been on in a very long time. Shame on me. I hope all of the new Sailors and their families are adjusting well to their A-schools or wherever they are stationed now. Time flies when you are having fun! :o)

I would like to know if anyone can help me by sharing some of your personal experiences with your sailors in regards to their jobs as a PACT Airman. I have researched some of the sites for his job class (E1), but they are more generalized than personal. He is stationed @ Whidbey Island.

He and I have talked a little about some of the things he does in regards to his job. He has Watch Duty and that is pretty much all I know. I don't like to ask a lot of questions about what he does, even though I am dying to know. He would rather talk about home and things going on here, understandably so. I know he misses home, friends, family, the Alabama weather and football, etc.  :o)

If anyone can help, I would appreciate it very much.

I was st the meet & greet on 12/20 at Sarge's location and there was a lady who spoke about selling shirts to help fundraise for future moms or families. Does anyone know how I can purchase these? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
