Navy For Moms

Coty called this morning and said he had to go out today and buy laundry soap, bleach, locks, alarm clock and some other items. He has a small frig and microwave in his room, but all food has to be in sealed containers. So he is going to need some zip lock boxes. I made a note of all this so I have some ideas of what to send in a care package.

Hi Jamie:

Yes, our sons survived 12-24 graduation and I remember you in our Div. 038 U.S. Kearsarge group. Now we have the A school to contend with. What is Coty going in for? My son Jason, is for aviation machinst. He told me today that school hasn't started yet. From other posts, some sailors are waiting almost 6 months to start school. They work in a museum, do watch, clean up, etc. Seems like a waste, doesn't it? My son is just happy to be in Florida where it is warm. It is a heck of a lot better than frigid GL!

Hey Jamie,
Yeh it's been nice that Shane has his cell phone at A school. I've talked to him everyday since he's been in Pensacola. Isn't Coty in Pensacola too? I was wondering what the Ziplocs were for, now I see by reading your post. Shane asked me for a bunch of things. I thought it was so funny because he asked for the TP that I buy. I guess the TP there is too rough (lol). I'm getting a box together to send to him tomorrow. Hope all is going well with Coty and hope you start feeling better, you poor thing. Happy New Year to you and the family. Tell the girls we said hi too.

Hi Tani,
My son is in Pensacola too. He went a bought cell phone and has called me every day since he's been there. Only thing he has asked me to send is his whitey tighties that he wash and threw away in the trash in the laundry room. I took them back out and washed them again and sending them today. He tossed them cause he'd figured he didn't need to wear them anymore. He loves boxers but before he left he bought boxer briefs in white. I guess they need to wear the white briefs under their pt gear.
He is on hold right now talking about 3 months I guess so until that begins he will be PTing and cleaning. I think A-school is a 1 1/2 year of training.
My Son was in DIV 047 his field is AW.

Yes he is in Foxtrot barracks. Iam waiting in an address otherwise I can send anything right now. Iam feeling a bit better, less stuffy nose, my voice is starting to come back. But, I have this cough that is like razors in my throat when I cough and it keeps me up all night. It drives me crazy.

Hi All! Great that everyone survived PIR! My poor son had to go back to that winter weather for A School! He's in Corpman school. Says it's not so bad, they're taking some classes now prior to "classing up" I guess the actual A School starts on Jan 14th from what I gather. Thus far he's requested that I send his laptop and he wants some flannel sheets for his bunk. Had to laugh about the tighty whities, my son wanted to throw them away too, he wears the boxer briefs too! He was happy I made him pack them and bring them though! The first couple of days back were rough, he breezed right through basic with no homesickness but after being home with the whole family (his brother was home as well) for the holidays he was kind of down which in turn breaks mom's heart. But all is well, he's got his cell phone and calls just about every night!

Hi Sharon! My son is back in GL too for Corpsman school. I am sure that they probably know each other! What division was he in? Did you get an address yet?

Hi Jared's mom! He was in 046 at basic - they were the ones that got through basic in 7 weeks! Yes, I got his address but he said it may change, not sure what that's about. One of his roommates is graduating A-school on the 23rd and the other is starting when Devin does. They thought it was this week that they were starting, he was originally told the 14th but that may be a little off. They've been given their units and their duties though and he says it's kind of like college. When he calls on his cell phone it always sounds so loud! He says he doesn't mind it though!

Hey Sharon! My son was in Div 046 too! I haven't talked to him since the beginning of this week, but he thought they may class up at the end of this week, with the beginning of next week being the latest! I will ask him if they know each other!

Joseph said he could use his "own" iron. I'm sending him one.
If they don't have an iron they will have to borrow one or have uniforms dry cleaned and pressed.

Hello and good day to all. Sorry I have not been on much, my computer time is limited. I spoke with Brian on Saturday (01/10), who is at Lackland AFB (was in DIV 038) and is still waiting to be assigned to A-school. I am becoming a little unnreved in that I can't even send him anything, he has no address. If any one else is going through the same thing or already has, please give me a heads up as to what to do. Usually when I call him he can't talk--he has watch or muster to do. Thanks and I appreciate any advice. Christine
