YAY Judy....has anyone gotten the Grad packet yet? I figure it should be coming within the next week and half, but I could be wrong

Finally got a response back from RTC on why they originally had "forgotten" two divisions, 036 and 037. It was an error and my sons division 036 is graduating 12-24-08. so here I am, happy to know the date and anxiously awaiting that final letter/packet to find out if my son is grad n go or if he'll be able to spend some time with us. Hello to everyone :-)

Woot ladies I learned some good info today. I called my son's recruiters office and asked why they would grad n go a class and send them to a base that is on stand down (closed essentially) for the holiday. The recruiter told me that our kids can submit a request for a leave for a day or two and then if approved they could stay in GL for a couple of days after they PIR, so that we can spend time with them. Need I say that I was on the phone to Coty's dad in Florida telling him that if Coty calls him first before me that he should tell him about submitting the paperwork. Iam so happy at the thought of a chance Coty can stay there a day or two.
So, I thought I would share this with you in case you and your recruits were not aware of this.

Princess- I too worry that my son wont know how to use the calling card.

Oh my gosh!!! I never thought there might actually be more than one letter at a time. I am so happy for you. I'm still at work and can't wait to speed home to check my mailbox. :))

I got a letter/letters today!!!!!!!!!!!! They are only allowed to mail them weekly so he had written every night and mailed them all at once. I am one happy and proud mom! A phone call today would send me over the edge:)

My son has never used a phone card before although I mailed him one. I hope he understands how to and is not to embarrassed to ask for help. I feel terrible that I have done almost everything for him and I think he is at my mercy. I only pray to God that he learned to watch me and make good decisions. The most important decisions or one of the most is calling his mom. LOL

I still have not received my sons first letter. He is not a writer (a bit lazy). I am carrying my phone everywhere. I had him bring a phone card with him and his dad and grandparents sent him a couple. He has no excuse for not calling JK! I hope he is not in trouble or having a real hard time with this. Maybe he never earned the privilege. I have rearranged all of the xmas plans and finally patched different family members together to watch the 3 little ones. Now I think I can make it for the graduation on 12-24. I am going to drive out on the 23 and leave the 24th at night. I can still spend some of christmas day with the kids. It is a 14 hour drive. But if his school is in the GL you all are saying he may have more time. I believe his school is in GL. What a mess this is going to be. I can make the graduation but not stay through the weekend. I am so glad you all are here and this website is. I am at least able to get some information. My sons recruiter never answers my calls. Getting him here on 10/29 was a mini nightmare and now his graduation has turned into a bigger one.

I will hang in there and keep reading and gathering information. I guess I will try to book a room. Thanks for being here.

Just curious....sounds like all our sailors will be going to Fl for A school. Let's compare what rate they will be. Our daughter will be an AME.
