my son is in div 042. he called and said they might get to take leave for the weekend and flyout to fl on sunday. anyone know about this?

If they are staying in GL then yeah I would guess they get regular time off the base.

Lisa- my son is going to Pensicola Florida too.

Check into flying into Milkwalkie WI instead of O'Hare. It is the same distance from the base, but the rates are half the price.

Maggie- grad and go doesnt mean they can spend the night with you. Grad N Go means they leave the same day they PIR. My son is also going to Pensicola FL for school.

Plus- We can't schedule a flight home b/c we don't if he's a Grad and Go. Who would have thought they would PIR on Christmas Eve?????

I am a planner and it is driving me crazy to not be able to book flights and know exactly what we are doing!!!! We live in Georgia so a 10 hour + drive is not very appealing. Does anyone have any suggestions---Flight schedules during the holidays are scary.

Hi.. My son is in Div 045 and I'm also staying at the Residence.. How do I find out when he leaves for A School ? I have the hotel booked for a few days, but it's hard to make plans to return back home..

Well, I have a friend whose son was listed a grad n go when he PIRed, but when she got there he told her he was going to be at GL for another month because his A school was backed up. I also checked with the Navy recruiter who is on Navy for Dads and he said he was gonna see what he could find out also. So cross your fingers.

I think I am driving to same money plus I am scared to fly. Do you know where your going to stay yet? Iam going to stay at Residence Inn 2.8 miles from base

Our daughter is in 043. I'm going crazy wondering about the Christmas schedule too. I read somewhere that the 12/24 PIR divs will most likely be grad and go in order to get them all moved out by the end of the year. Nothing like flying at the most expensive time of the year, huh?!
